Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Tovar put on some weight since we last saw him

Still a nice online throw, but a little less air under it would have been better and would have allowed for a quicker tag.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Dom plays a damn good defensive first base. He has dug several low throws the last few games and that toss after the diving stop was magical.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Tovar was just planted there. Considering the next 3 hitters, do something: a hit and run, as Wayne said, or a steal... something. It wasn't like Lee or McCann were going to get a hit (so Fargas was their only hope!).
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Awesome catch by Fargas. I thought for sure it would pop out of his glove when he hit the ground.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 These guys aren't as good as the regulars, but they sure are fun to watch.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 You need 6 outs in order to win. It's the middle of the Marlins order. Do you use Diaz in the 9th or save him for the 10th?

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 I don't have a problem with it. With a runner on 2nd and no out, strikeouts are critical. Diaz is a strikeout machine. So I save him for the 10th in a tie game.I'm still scratching my head about pulling Lucchesi and not having a reliever ready.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 22, 2021 Author Posted May 22, 2021 Playing for the tie is a fool's game. It always catches up with you.
