LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 So, with all this talk of opening, and the floodgates apparently opening on vaccine access... is anyone tempting fate?Anyone besides us, I mean. I cashed in part of my ticket credit from last year, and got field-level tickets for the Friday night Phils game on 6/25, right after school ends and just before we take YoungerPooper to summer sleepaway camp (!) on Sunday. Depending on whether we can follow through on vaccine plans before Easter, we may pony up for something a little earlier, too.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 We only go once per year -- and almost always a weekday matinee during the summer months. And there are usually tons of extra seats available at those games, so I'm hopeful that Fboy and I (and perhaps Fgirl) can attend either Thurs July 29 12:10 PM Bravos @ Mets or Thurs Aug 12 12:10 Nats @ Mets.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Tuesday Night Mets Club looking like it's going to get shut out. We have tix but bought a la carte and so are on the end of the line. That said, if capacity rises Tuesday is a good day to have tickets. At any rate rolling over credit till next year I guess, once again. My plan this year was to bike to and from, avoid the subway. Can get there in 17 minutes
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 I'm tempted to do Opening Day but technically the wife would have to quarantine/WFH if i attend an event with 8k people. Taking the whole family, including the 6 and 4 year old unable to be vaccinated children, probably depends on the outbreak status this summer.Hopefully her company adjusts their protocols to allow vaccinated people to do things like this and I'll at least attend a game or two solo some weekday night or something. It all feels so ..foreign right now. Like I can't imagine just wandering into Citi Field on a whim some random night.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 I can't imagine attending a game this year.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 I biked past CF yesterday and was tempted to join a pretty short line of vaccine-receivers at McFaddens.I'm still ineligible of course and need an appt but but figured if the guys were in the right mood they'd have let me right in.The security parking attendant booth on 126th "Seaver Way" still has a composite photo of guys who get access anytime including the Wilpons.I didn't see this myself but been told they are renaming a bunch of clubs inside including one of them turning into the Piazza Grill Sponsored By Some Premium Vodka Brand
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 Mike has always been just a little bit off in his branding.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 Piazza owns the vodka brand in question, though not in the same sense he owned Roger Clemens's despicable ass.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 I got an email from the Mets. They are "reopening" the ticket gates on April 1 to single-game buyers to re-buy tickets for games in April. Not sure what seats will be available or the prices. But capacity will be 20%. My "ticket wallet" still shows games after May 1 but April is gone. The Tuesday Night Club had tix for only 1 game, with both of having been vaxxed by then we'll try.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 I wonder how many stadium seating areas will be open.At 20% everyone gets to sit close I would think.

I assumed they'd sell the original ticket holders/plans/etc first but i'd be nice to know what the plan was if they're going to keep spamming me.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 Heads up. Mets ticks for rejiggered, reduced capacity games in may are on sale now. Tuesday Night Club replenished its games vs. Baltimore 5/11 and the Rockies 5/25

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 I got a call from the Mets the other day and the guy told me 2 pm. It might only be to exchange the tickets if you've already bought them, as we had

Doesn't matter, Probably still better for me to buy last minute.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 Me and muh lady friend are going to the game. The Thursday, July 29th matinee to be precise. I've still only been to Citi a couple times. What's yall's fav spot for the money? And if any of you skip work that day, LMK.

Close to the field, bleacher-y atmosphere, not too far from the CF food/rec area, and the RF food stuff (Sweet Chick, the Alonso burger, rice balls) is right behind you for easy in-games refills/snacking.There's also nothing wrong with buying whatever gets you in cheaply, and hanging in the concourse/on the Shea Bridge for most of the game (with the same benefits as listed above).

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 McFaddens's is gone and so is the Mikkeller Brewery that followed in another spot.No idea what's going on in those spaces. Lazily asking, anyone know?

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 Maybe what I saw the other day about McF's closing was old news. Looks like it'sopen during baseball season again according to web-site - http://www.mcfaddensballparkny.com/McFadden's Citifield.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 no, it's closed. was a dump anyway. The Wilpons are squatting in the Mikkeller space I think, with the Ebbs brewery and/or related seltzer brands. But the bar is definitely not open.
