Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 Interesting interview with Blevins here where he acknowleges getting pitching tips off the hitting coach.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 Stephen Nogosek has inherited Tim Tebow's number and Craig Swan's face.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 Nogosek throws one of the most action-free tie-game ninth innings you'll ever see — BB – BB – SO – SO – WP – BB – full-count SO.Something like 35 pitches, no fair balls.Somebody's got to reintroduce the contact hitter to baseball.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 Game ends at 4-4.Very much a spring game. Nobody wins. Nobody really trying to.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 More of a PSTGT post, but the Mets absorbed a 9-5 loss to the Nationals today, with three errata leading to three unearned runz.Jordan Yamamoto, who executed one of the errors, took the loss. Jake Hager, who came into camp with something like four people to pass in order to make the team, whacked his second spring homer, driving in three, while Mark Vientos went 2-2, with two dubbles, scoring twice, and upping his OPS to a head-turning 2.125.

LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Mike Shildt is the manager of the Cardinals. This is a fact I JUST learned now, despite the attendant facts that he has been so for four seasons and won NL Manager of the Year in 2019.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 I hope Taijuan Walker ends up as good on the mound as he is in interviews. Quickly becoming a favorite of mine.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Fun story from the booth about Ol' Yadier F's defensive work last week in a Spring Training game. The video-- including some ill-advised rookie trash talk, and some sustained eye contact-- is https://www.mlb.com/news/yadier-molina-dares-runner-throws-him-outentertaining.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Ron had Taijuan's game pegged. He was successful in the first using the get-ahead fastball, but he quickly fell into a pattern, and the Cards jumped on it in the second.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 5 run 7th innings are fun. I've seen several level swings producing opposite field hits today. I like it.
