Interesting that Luis Guillorme started at second base against a lefthander and went 2-for-3.

Nice to see they're giving him a chance to see what he can do against lefties instead of predetermining that he is only a platoon player.

I don't see what was so interesting about Guillorme's start. I wonder if you're making too much out of it? How many starts do you think Guillorme's gonna get this season with McNeil and Lindor on the team, barring a major injury to someone higher up on the depth chart?

Today's game against the Cardinals is on MLBN only in the tri-state area but not live.

Perhaps of less concern is Pete Alonso, who got all four of those runs back on a grand slam in the bottom of the inning, picking up Dom Smith who left three, striking out on a foul tip before Alonso came up.

Mets up 5-4 in the top of the seventh. Gselly on the mound.

That walk-to-strikeout ratio for this game is frightening... and these are our mid-to-high-leverage RELIEVERS.

Hopefully Alderson found some gems. The BVW crew is not great.

Of course Alderson wasn't great with relievers the first time around.

Your final is an 8-4 Mets win. Jake Hager joined the homer club with a two run shit in the eighth.

Each team enjoyed eight free passes. Each team had a guy picked off.

Dellin is a worry.

And he vultures the win, but leaves with an ERA that looks like the top speed of an F-22 Raptor.

Yeah, when a guy says that he's lost 6 MPH of his fastball but he's learning to work around it, that's a concern.

I still maintain that Betances is the MFY revenge for Pedro Feliciano.

A two-run shit? Yuck! I'm glad I wasn't watching.

It was announced today that Jacob DeGrom will start the season opener for the Mets.

In a bit of unsurprising news, Mets manager Luis Rojas announced Saturday that he expects Jacob deGrom to take the ball when the Mets open the regular season against the Nationals on April 1.

“That's where it's lined up,” Rojas said. “He's our No. 1 guy, if you want to call him that, so we're setting him up to be the Opening Day starter.”

I'll take "I Would Have Put Money on That" for $200, Mike.

Jose Martinez, today's 1B, had to be helped off the field after he stumbled into umpire Greg Gibson who couldn't be bothered to get out the way.

Umpires are terrible. All of them. Some are less worthless but all of them are pathetic sacks of overpaid garbage.
