Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 David Peterson (3-1; 2.91) vs Humberto MajiaMejia has pitched one ML game and it came against the Mets on Aug 7 where he was the starter and allowed just a solo HR to DomBut he lasted just 2-1/3 innings because he needed 67 pitches just to get that far (6 Ks, 2 BBs). That was the game the Mets lostwhen Wacha gave up the early game 3-Run bomb to Cervelli and we never recovered.Aside from that one game, Mejia has never pitched above A-ballPeterson's last outing was 1 run over 5 IP in what became an 8-2 NYM win over the Nationals
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Peterson has a win over the Marlins this season so he has seen them. His whip is 1.15Mejia has no track record. Mets have not seen him. Lest he not rise up now.Maybe Nido will get a start todayLGM!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 The first two posts here need to be reconciled on the Mejia question.Meanwhile, tapping out a team's bullpen in game one of a series is always a good idea.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Peterson has been put on the 10 day IL with "shoulder fatigue."
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 At some point, Oswalt is going to have to show he isn't just a "AAAA pitcher". I hope that will happen tonight.Later
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Mets are always calling the Corey Hotlinehttps://thenostalgiablog90s.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/vlcsnap-00125.jpg>
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Oswalt really looked like he moved toward the plate on that pickoff.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Man, Nimmo gets around the bases fast.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 At this time last night the game was probably still in the top of the 2nd.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Snuffy Smiff is looking like our player of the week.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 You can't stop Dom Smith AND you can't even hope to contain him.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Keith wondering how he got invited to a party atop the Chrysler Building.YOU'RE KEITH FUCKING HERNANDEZ!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Wasting a leadoff triple against a AAAA clown
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 So there will be a second [CROSSOUT]shooter[/CROSSOUT] pitcher in addition to Oswalt.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 Johnny Lunchbucket wrote:Wasting a leadoff triple against a AAAA clownAlready 1/6 w/RiSP which is how you turn five XBHs including two HRs and wind up with just three runs.Marlins are 2/4
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 You're Pat Venditte. Can you blow out a UCL in one elbow, get the surgery at the end of the season, and then come back in the spring and keep throwing with one arm while the other recuperates?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 No one was on 3d with less than 2 outs so ROSARIO!!!

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Surprisingly strong innings from Oswalt whom I mostly remember as a "porn puss pounded" kind of guy.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 Dom gets the closest thing to an RBI 'hit' that this team can muster.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Nice clutch 1B there by Rosie to open things up a smidge.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Brad Boxburger? This Marlin bullpen is a great game of "What Ever Happened to ... ?"
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 That's a good, classick reliever mullet on this Eibner guy. Runners on the corners with nobody out, but a sweet mullet nonetheless.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 I have no memory of this hitter-turned-pitcher Eibner guy.And so far he's retired as many ML hitters as I have.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Diaz trying to Diaz this game up
