Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 gimenez. is that a surpise?
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 How out f it I've been -- went to update the old mbtn website, saw the domain expired yesterday!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 what happens to guys like Gonslaves not on the 40? Limbo? Free agent?
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 there's like 60man taxi squads or something right? that I haven't read up on exactly. they're 'around' though.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Author Posted July 24, 2020 Ryan Ellis has been relisted as 91.Jeremy Hefner is back in 53.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 More changes than a Cher concert.Later
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 14 pitchers and 8 infielders. Ay caramba.Hope Gimenez gets an AB before he's sent down. I'll also betting he'll be the 'automatic guy on 2nd' in extra innings.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Only if he makes the last out in the inning before. The runner isn't someone you can designate; it's whoever is in the lineup and would bat ninth in the current inning.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2020 Author Posted July 26, 2020 First in-season transactional note of 2020: Oswalt demoted or perhaps deported to the Alternate Site, a.k.a. Brooklyn. Mets will announce corresponding move once they clear all the baseballs the Braves hit from their paperwork.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2020 Author Posted July 27, 2020 After getting knocked around last night, the Mets have decided Tyler Bashlor is the answer to their pitching depth issues, at least for today. He's been called up following the tossing of Corey Oswalt into an unmarked van.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 How is Peterson making his way rosterward? Erasmo?
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Author Posted July 28, 2020 Peterson up and starting. Bashlor DFA'd.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Author Posted July 28, 2020 David Peterson will wear good ol' No. 77.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Author Posted July 29, 2020 Marisnick to the IL with a strained hamstring. Ryan Cordell gets the call.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Do they cancel games because of strained hamstrings?
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Only if they're, like, contagious hamstring pulls. Testing will be important.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Author Posted July 30, 2020 Let's see now...Nunez to the IL.Dozier up from BK.Strickland DFA.Zamora recalled. Also, Bruce Maxwell has been signed and assigned to work out at the ALTERNATE SITE. And yesterday, in case it was missed, Jordan Humphreys was DFA'd to make room for Ryan Cordell.Dozier to wear 15; Cordell, BTW, is 18.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2020 Author Posted August 1, 2020 For the record, Rivera's on the IL, Kilome (wearing No. 66) is up.Eight games in, five members of the Opening Day active roster are no longer on the active roster.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Author Posted August 2, 2020 Jared Hughes (No. 35) is activated. Franklyn Kilome has been ridden hard and put away wet
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2020 Author Posted August 3, 2020 Ali Sánchez (No. 70) joins the cast. The catcher takes the place of a former left fielder who nobody ever talks about anymore (restricted list).
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 Cano to IL. Hamilton up (No. 21).
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2020 Author Posted August 5, 2020 Ryan Cordell has been DFA'd.Also, the Mets have picked up righty reliever Ariel Jurado from way on the other side of the Hudson, specifically Texas. He's been assigned to where all naughty righty relievers go, the Alternate Site.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 I think it's a pretty safe bet that three or four years from now, you'll be the only one here who remembers Ryan Cordell.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Cordell will be memorialized, forever, in a Typewriter Chewing Gum complete or total Mets 2020 baseball card set, currently in the design and planning stage.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 I guess having your manager opt to not PH for Tomas Nido but then does PH for you an inning or two later more or less serves as the DFA equivalent of writing on the wall.I remember picking Cordell out during ST (the original one) as a player to watch.Still not sure I wouldn't prefer him to Billy Hamilton but I admit that's largely speculative.
