Dear Typewriter Chewing Gum Co.,

I like the presentation of the names in the new subset, not sure I like the the borders but can you turn these cards over so I can see the back. Also, do these cards scale to standard BB card sizes?

Yes, Roger, these cards scale to standard sized baseball cards. They were designed to standard baseball card specs -- 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches.

Didya try with the light blue right border? They make sense framing a circle

The original design for this set -- code name You live, we give --was based on the logo shown above, including the color scheme, which is an older-school Pepsi color scheme. I generally prefer older school stuff. But after a few cards, I thought that the color scheme wasn't working. The old school Pepsi colors didn't work well with the Mets colors and the newfangled photography, whose colors are more vibrant. Old school Pepsi was more pastel-like and somewhat duller. Nothing wrong with that, but it wasn't suited for the baseball photos. So after about a dozen cards, we switched to the newer Pepsi colors, which are a much richer red and blue.

Although I'll be available to confirm the Metsiness of various low-profile 2020 Mets in the not too distant amnesiac future, I've really given next to no thought to most of these guys since the seasonette ended. These cards have me all “Franklyn Kilome...oh yeah.”

Shirley, you jest.

Technically, these Typewriter rookie star cards are rookie debut cards, and not simply rookie cards. The difference being that every major leaguer has but one rookie debut. But some will have more than one rookie season, having not used up their rookie service time in their debut year. So, for example, Petrerson and Gimenez have used up all of their rookie service time in 2020 and will no longer be considered rookies in MLB's next season, whenever that is. At Typewriter, we card rookie debuts. All of them.

But Sanchez and Kilome (I'm pretty sure, though I haven't formally checked) will still be rookies next season. Still, Sanchez and Kilome will not appear on Typewriter's next batch of rookie star cards because they've already debuted.

And that's how we roll, here at Typewriter.

Oh, and have a happy Exquisite Scumbag day.
