kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 The missing Met is hard (if my digging around UMDB proves correct). A hint mightbe, this is a job for MFS or moleman?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2020 Author Posted August 25, 2020 It's really for any in this forum. We all know his ass.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Up my alley + MFS62 would know... Tom Sturdivant in the W cap
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2020 Author Posted August 25, 2020 No, I don't think MFS has any special advantage with regard to this guy.The problem is, though he's recognizable, we all know a guy who looks and acts just like him. He's a lot of fun in your freshman dorm until maybe that third beer, and then you don't even want to be in the same room as him. You really want him on your side in pickup basketball, because even though he's guaranteed to put up a few bricks every game, he goes really hard in the paint, and he can match up against players a few inches taller than him, just sticking to them like glue and wearing them out.But he's a little to quick to fight, and you kind of steered clear of him full-time after sophomore year when you realized the way he talks about women is way too rapey, and he talks about women, like, a lot.I'm not saying our mystery Met is this guy, but he kind of looks like this guy, who is, sadly, everywhere, so you can see him at Costco or H.E. Butt and not realize until later, Holy shit! That guy was a Met!!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 It's that guy in the [CROSSOUT]Rangers [/CROSSOUT] Rays cap, obviously. It's not Ty Wigginton but it's a guy like him
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Is it Justin "I Hit A Shocking 3-Run Home Run Off Madison Bumgartner And The Mets Managed To Lose Anyway*" Ruggiano?*-these details may not be not accurate

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2020 Author Posted August 25, 2020 Three-beer asshole... hmmm...It wouldn't even be three complete beers either. It would be just the cracking of the third round and suddenly you're like, "Whoah, Mike is looking to throw down."But his name isn't Mike, and as much as I compare him to Mike, as far as I know, he's had no violent marks on his record, though he has had a blowup with a manager. For what it's worth, I've dropped a less esoteric hint in there as well.

It was part of a run of three straight, sub-deGromian starts that ended his season earlier and lead to the ulnar nerve surgery at the end of 2016.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 If we're looking at butt shots maybe it's Heath Bell. I seem to recall some hiney talk about him.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 I just know I'm gonna be crying in my Slurpee when the Met is IDd.Number two is killing me, it's like I've played darts with that guy.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Of the four Heath Bell shots available on his BB-Ref page, the only one I'd recognize as him is the main one, the 'in action' shot of him as a Padre. He looks all generic in the others.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2020 Author Posted August 25, 2020 If we score this as five points for a non-Met (since folks seem to be keen on identifying those as well), three points for a Met, a two-point bonus for any black-and-white photos, and a one-point deduction for a missed guess, the standings look like this:Benjamin Grimm: 34batmagadanleadoff: 18Frayed Knot: 13Johnny Lunchbucket: 8Transmonk: 8Fman99: 6kcmets: 6ashie62: 5mfs62: 5Seawolf17: 5HahnSolo: 3A Boy Named Seo: -1LWFS: -1I confess that The Thing was able to pad his lead using compound answers, something I hadn't been enforcing back in the spring. But I'll enforce now. NO multiple answers in a post, no answering in consecutive posts. Yadda-yadda-yadda.While we are now giving points for naming non-Mets, all rounds will be considered closed once all Mets have been identified.I'll launch one more round for today, but otherwise, one round per day, so I can breathe the free air. This set has but one amazin' Met. Remember, once he is identified, the round ends. So if you want the big points of the non-Mets, identify them first. If you don't want others to get those big points, block them by identifying the Met, and ending the round.https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2020/08/screen-shot-2020-08-25-at-11.39.13-am.png>
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 I can tell which one is the Met easily enough, but I'm not sure of his identity, so I'll go with one I do recognize. Fourth from the left, top row, Ron Blomberg.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Oyster Burns, lower left
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Larry Walker, top row, second from right
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Juan Pierre, next to Oyster Burns
