kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 The Mets have split-squad games Saturday; one vs. the Cardinals andthe other vs. Fishsticks. The home opener is on WPIX at 1pm, set the DVR.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 To me, Spring has always meant seeing the box score of the first Spring Training game. This year, there will be the joy of seeing two of them on the same day. Can't wait.Later

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Very helpful. I updated to include away team broadcasts for those of us with the apps that may want to tune in.the app lists split Mets broadcasts for the ss games, TV on the road, radio at home. dunno if that's accurate, but is true to past years.http://www.ceetar.com/optimisticmetsfan/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/2020spring.jpg>

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 Windy in St. Lucie today. Chasen Shreve appeared susceptible to being bruised by a stiff breeze.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 Are the Marlins really going back to teal tops and the off-center fish insignia again?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 They get the tying run on in the ninth in Jupiter, but fall 2-0.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 And at [insert name here] park in PSL they fall 5-3

Fucking philistine Jeter and his matching ego to have to have his own fucking unis.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 Matt Adams has not lost 30 pounds over the off-season.I think the Marlins will terrorize us this year.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 I think this may BE the best shape of his life. And re: that second one-- plus ca change...

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 Matz gives up a leadoff homer to Harrison Bader. Probably looks really pissed off on the mound right now.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 Harol Gonzalez out there in the 9th, wearing no. 5. He's an athletic young pup
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 This guy is fresh. Stylish hair, sideburns, Fu Manchu and whiffed the 1st 2 guys he faced. Now gives up back to back singles. C'mon, Harol!!!!!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 Harol proceeds to give up 3 straight singles but managed a "hold" on Brody Quinn's throw to the plate. Last chance to avoid a tie

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 And speaking of athletic guys, the one who started in RF today -- Ryan Cordell, in camp as an NRI following two partial seasons (254 ABs in total) w/the ChiSox -- looks like he's a piece of raw material. With minor lg numbers that are decent but not great [.273/.334/.458 in 2K ABs] and not exactly a high pedigree guy [11th round pick out of Liberty U by Texas in 2013] he's unlikely to have a ceiling as much more than a bench player. But he had a nice RBI-single AB today (the only one I saw anyway) and threw out a wanderer at 1st from RF. He's a 6' 4"/195 OF'er w/some CF under his belt who can run a bit [90 SB in 115 minor lg attempts] and turns 28 next month which means, if he's ever going to get a shot, this would be the time to do it. And right after I was thinking how good he was looking in this brief intro, Gary piped up with the tidbit that there's been talk within the org about how he's the type of player who could play his way onto the team with a good spring in this era of 26 man rosters.
