I can passively ignore a lot of noise (including all of my kids' friends and every show Fwife enjoys). But there's some things that I CANNOT MUTE FAST ENOUGH when it comes to TV advertisements. Some of these I've heard ten thousand times. Others just are terrible awful noise.

Here's the short list right off the top of my head:

1. Pat Mahomes lamenting his mistake to a custodian while taking an ice bath

2. Aaron Rodgers and his stupid fake agent and his Allstate guy

3. Anything with Peyton Manning and a country star singing about Nationwide

What do you all got?

What's up with the Jiffy Lube guy? "Seriously!" I take it we're seeing him 40 years later. Just tell us you change the oil, et al, real fast.

Budweiser Reserve makes you supernaturally good at billiards, apparently.

I hadn't even connected those dots. The last 30 years of New York Jets fandom will do that to a guy. Ask anyone else who's walked in my shoes.

That's who gets all the ads

I like Peyton but yeah the country singer can take a hike

The Aaron Rogers ads were funnier before they brought the insurance agent on to them

Try watching daytime TV...you can't beccause it's a constant stream of Medicare ads and you end up giving up and turning off

Making me reach for the clicker: The stupid guy from Men In Black II doing those car rental ads.

Making me want to throw something at the TV (If the clicker is out of reach): When he laughs at his own jokes.

You guys are all wrong. The worst commercial in the history of TV is the Carmel ad.

"What are you meshugenah?"

So the sponsors of these telecasts actually expect me to go out and buy a Doosan? Cuz, if not, I'm not sure theirs is money well spent.

(whatever a Doosan is)

I have no doubt that if it ever aired on TV instead of just radio, the winner hands down would be the 1-800- cars 4 kids ad.

Kars 4 Kids is by far the worst ever. I've heard it's a pretty shady operation

too but I'd need to do more research before saying so. Ooops, too late.

Fact check result: mixed, https://www.charitywatch.org/charity-donating-articles/costly-and-continuous-kars4kids-ads-disguise-charity39s-real-purposeleaning toward true.

In CharityWatch's view, the Kars4Kids ads deceive potential donors by failing to inform them that donated cars will benefit a Jewish organization and kids of Jewish faith. Furthermore, the youth programs Kars4Kids supports promote an Orthodox Jewish lifestyle, which CharityWatch believes compounds the deception perpetrated by the Kars4Kids ads. Oorah, Kars4Kids' “sister charity,” is the organization that actually runs the “educational, developmental, and recreational programs for Jewish youth and their families” described in Kars4Kids' mission statement. Kars4Kids and Oorah share a principal officer, Eliyohu Mintz, the son of their founder, Rabbi Chaim Mintz, and both organizations are located at the same address in the heavily-Orthodox Jewish town of Lakewood, New Jersey. Oorah, which means “awaken” in Hebrew, “specializes in outreach to non-observant Jews, operating summer camps and other programs that seek to make non-Orthodox Jews more observant,” according to an October 2016 article in the Forward, which covers news for a Jewish-American audience.

Caught the full version of the Jiffy Lube commercial in which all context is explicit and the narrative makes perfect advertising sense. The edited iteration (“seriously”) they've shown 4,000 times during each game is what happens when somebody is told to “make it fit” w/o further instruction.
