Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 I'm on a hot streak here. My IGTs have won three straight which brings my season total of wins up to ... right about three I believe and ups my overall record to something like 5-147I don't want to say that I'm usually bad luck but a couple of days ago a black cat went out of its way to avoid crossing my path.First of all, good to see that we held on in last night's game. I cashed it in just prior to the 9th inning pretty well confident (at least 60/40) that we could protect that 9-0 lead.1:10 start today. Marcus Stroman vs rookie Alex Young (sounds like an alias to me). Young actually ain't so young for a first-timer: turned 26 three days ago; another lefty thrower; 6' 2"/205; from Illinois via Texas Christian Univ in Fort Worth, TX; 2nd round draft pick by Arizona in 2015. Made his ML debut in late June: 13 games/12 starts; 7-3; 3.38; 1.05And Stroman needs to win today, or at least pitch well enough for the team to do so, in order to prove that he doesn't hate America

LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 I'm about 95% sure the Diamondbacks generated Alex Young on their copy of MLB: The Show 2019 like, two weeks back.https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/LCoe-4vgT9S6btCjxG8Si3Sh1SA=/0x0:180x270/1200x800/filters:focal(76x121:104x149)/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/62298297/622065.0.jpg >
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 The Mets face elimination in the National League East today.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 All of a sudden, it's POURING at Citi... which makes the shaky outfieldin' a little more understandable.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 This rain don't look too good. And presumably they're going to try play through anything.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 I mean, they kinda have to, right?Score those runs early, boys.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Young completely destroyed Alonso. I'd never heard of him till 5 minutes ago.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Frazier getting hot is about the best thing that could happen to us.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Our Todd is an awesome Todd.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Twas a cklassick Frazier HR, hit with one hand all ugly-like.3 good frames from Stroman so far, which is more than he's had in any Mets appearance yet I think
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Was McNeil not hot enough that he's sitting today?
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 JD Davis. Clutch.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 I like this new "good at baseball" version of Todd Frazier.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 They said something about a hammy for McNeil? Not clear it was new or reference to previous maladyFraze too hot to pitch to anymore, takes a 2 out walk to load em up for Laggy
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Lagares with a chance to make something amazing happen. They should pinch-hit with, like, late-career Lenny Harris or something to Stroman-proof this game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Mets need to pinch-hit Pat Tabler.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 The Dbaggs are Fake News. Traded the ace in July and hung around till September. They had this beating coming.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 His voice literally cracked.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Lagares first home park home run since 9/7/2017.
