Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 Vaguely inspired by the discussion about Ruben Tejada's last appearance in his first Mets tenure being a postseason game. 14 players have appeared for the Mets in a postseason game without having ever played in the field. Who are they? Hint: Ruben Tejada is not a correct answer.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2019 Author Posted August 27, 2019 Yes to Harris. No to Sasser. He entered on a double switch in Game 5 in 1988 during the top of the ninth.Yes to Anderson Hernandez.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2019 Author Posted August 27, 2019 Yes. 0-4 as PH in the 73 World Series. I'm not too proud to admit I had forgotten he was a Met.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2019 Author Posted August 27, 2019 Todd Pratt was the starting catcher in the Todd Pratt game (Piazza was injured). He also started a game in 2000 when Piazza was the DH.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 He also finished up the last two marathon games against the Braves, as Piazza was too hobbled to continue catching into extra innings.
