Last year, it was Jake deGrom's triumphant Cy Young quest. This year, it's Pete Alonso's ROY and potentially record-setting HR campaigns and Squirrel McNeil's pursuit of an improbable batting title in the Coors Field era, where a Rockie wins that award seemingly every other year.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Let's hope Wheels can limit the longball damage today but you know, I'm not real optimistic.I don't know how the team isn't completely in the dumps as this "defining" road trip finally ends 3-7 so far with two embarrassing blowouts, losing two 4-games series to division rivals including 3 straight Ls to the reeling Phillies all on multirun lead giveways; 2 Seth Lego bedshits; 2 crushing walkoff losses; 2 coaches fired; unchecked aggression toward the fourth estate engendering fake, insincere apologies or in the case of Vargas, insensitive tone-deaf justification.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Road blues at home for Phillies.Nola looking like Randy Lerch.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Randy Lerch looking pretty sharp striking out the side in the first.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 And a quick leadoff single by Bob Dernier.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 I prefer the maroon-era Phils with a stylized seam in the middle of the P, making the negative space look like a baseball.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 About time Franco did something wrong in this series.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 At least two Poolers in the house today, as per their Facebook posts. Get this win, fellas.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 One hit between the two teams through three and a half.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Get some pride, Mets. Get some shame.https://d9nvuahg4xykp.cloudfront.net/8826380382360006884/-7743521648196867694.jpg>Here's your ticket, pack your bags.Time for jumping overboard.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Rosario swinging at the first pitch was irritating, but typical.I just found out that Frontier Communications will NOT be renewing their deal with SNY, so I'll be a fan on radio only (except for those dreadful ESPN and FOX games).Later
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Lagares is hitting .182 with a .515 OPS.Cano hitting 233 with a 631 OPSIt was a real step change in quality there
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Poundcake trying to stay a major-leaguer and keep the Mets in the game.
