smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 So I was just about to say I was less on board with pinch-hitting for Smith with Davis...
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 JD Davis for Dom? All they needed was a flyball and I'd trust Dom, even against a LHP, more than JD.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 And I'd've had Smith squeeze like a motherfucker.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 YES! I did not expect that, especially off the bat.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Frazier denied the opportunity to ground into a DP with the Conforto steal, instead hits an ugly 2 run kaboomy
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Did anybody anywhere think he got enough wood on that?
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Lagares comes back to life today. Given how Gomez has hit the last week, prolly not a bad idea. The Frazier hit was the worst struck ball of the inning. Conforto's force-play the best
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 McNeil. What a stud.Giants had this one coming after Tuesday
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 =bmfc1 post_id=12225 time=1559845255 user_id=73]JD Davis for Dom? All they needed was a flyball and I'd trust Dom, even against a LHP, more than JD.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Solid inning from Jeurys to close it out.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 We're riding The Brady Bunch/Silver Platters into first place.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 21 outs Mickey. You have the horses to do it and then reduce than risk of the bullpen sacking itEven if our closer is Johnny BravoNice win
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Saw the Dodgers take the lead and was pleasantly surprised to see the Mets had won.I've only been campaigning for Dom Smith to start in LF for a few weeks. Usually the Mets ignore me for longer.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Thoughts on the Strategy!!!!- Didn't AT ALL like Gomez pinch-[CROSSOUT]hitting[/CROSSOUT]bunting.I would have hit McNeil there and NOT bunted - but, even if Mickey was set on bunting, is Carlos really that much better at it? Not by the look of things he isn't and I'm not sure, at this stage of his career, that he's any faster than McNeil either.hell, if you want to bunt I'd have put up Matz or JdGAnd, yeah, if Carlos picks up that ball right away (and/or starts running first and asking questions later) he probably beats the throw to 1st- Then I didn't particularly like McNeil PH'ing for Rosario, although it was slightly more justifiable once he had already made the previous move And it looked like it would REALLY blow up in his face until JMcN dunked that one in.- Now once you're at that point I was OK with JDD for Dom vs the LHP-specialist. Didn't work although I was still OK with it and he hit it hard. After that, of course, everything came up roses. - Would have been a nice sweep had Lugo & Gsellman not combined for their worst tag-team outing probably since joining the team.- Good to see a clean -- dare I say dominant? -- inning by Familia
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 I will never in a million years figure out why Bobby and Cindy sang the leads in this song
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 No way! Bobby's trippy, soulful, psychedelic, minor-key bridge is the BEST PART!! Look at Pete Sterne's face! He agrees! It's so good it gets reprised!Mickey burned pretty much his whole bench in one inning there. All he had left was Canó and if he couldn't go, it was going to be Kranepool.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2019 Author Posted June 6, 2019 I have to disagree, Bobby's 'interludes' drag the whole thing down a tad.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Well, some guys got soul, and some don't.As for Cindy, each of the Martin-Brady girls get a verse of their own. When you're in a family act, you can't just drop the weak links, You've got carry them and give them opportunities. They're family! And, as weak links go, Peter and Cindy were always a load to carry.

Obviously Peter (mr. screech)was out.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Really not a fan of the replays being shown at 8 PM instead of 7 or 7:30 PM. By 10 PM I'm gassed and I went to bed before the good part of this game. Stupid SNY.
