bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Tonight's blast reminded me of my "conversation" with Rajai early in Spring Training: Rajai had just hit a home run and he wandered by the 3B seating area, where I was, and I said "Hey Rajai!" and he looks over and I said, "way to rake!" (dumb but what would you have said?) and he gave me a thumbs up.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2019 Author Posted May 22, 2019 “I've been inspired ever since Spring Training by that guy who approved of my raking,” Davis told reporters. “What an incisive comment.”
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 I liked his voice on the post-game interview. Kinda nerdy, but still warm.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Not to be overlooked: he arrived in the 3rd inning tonight. Mets could have been shit out of luck if he was coming from New Orleans or Las Vegas. Kudos to the Wilpons buying the team in Syracuse outright and ending the AAA musical chairs.

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 oh, fair. So he probably wouldn't have actually made it if it'd been in Syracuse.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 you can get here from PA, you can't get here when you are playing for vegas on the road.sure you could have brought him over the day before just in case, but that requires more shuffling of guys, flights, sitting around in hotel rooms (dont want the guys on the roster thinking their replacement is in the building) and general disruption

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Oof. Well, thanks for the memories, friend.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 It won't be the same around here without him.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 Rajai and out...unless nobody grabs him and he catches a ride to Syracuse, which seems quite possible.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 I'll bet he gets to Syracuse
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2019 Author Posted May 28, 2019 Rajai has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Syracuse. Can declare himself a free agent. Let's hope he stays and returns.
