Three Mets who finished 2018 with the team still have no contracts for 2019: AJ Ramos, José Reyes, and Austin Jackson. Which of the three will be the last one left unsigned this spring?

Went with Jose, who looked done last season.

You'd think that Ramos, as a former closer, would have someone give him a shot. Jackson wasn't horrible and will be cheap for someone when a team has an injury crunch.

But there are plenty of young infielders who can do what Reyes can do. He probably should have said last season was his last and he could have gone out with some fanfare rather than waiting for the phone to ring in March.

I didn't think José Reyes looked done.

He played horribly, but his skills seemed intact. The bat speed was there, the quick hands and feet, the arm, the strength. The speed was down, of course, but still usable.

He just ... swung at awful pitches and popped up all day long. All season long.

I would think that a decline in pitch judgment is more recoverable than a decline in physical skills, but so far, nobody's biting. So what do I know?

Wouldn't his inability to lay off bad pitches and not hit pop-ups in fact indicate that certain skills are not intact?

Regardless, I doubt Jose plays another game in the majors, in view of his performance over the past two years and his personal history.

Somebody will sign Ramos; he's an arm and everyone needs them.

Comes down to Reyes and Jackson. I went with Jose; Austin looked slightly less cooked than Jose last year.

I voted Jose too, but I would put money on him winding up in a Ducks uniform before the season is out.

its Jose. the more off-field issues you have the less chances you are going to get once the talent runs out.

Reyes not shot? Last year, I wrote that Reyes still getting playing time by Memorial Day might've been the most scandalous thing going on on the baseball diamond. Reyes is about as done as Paul Manafort, I would think.
