Not very surprising but Snooze reports they're at work on a deal to get Wright off the 40 and into the front office as a figurehead "special assistant" to Brodie Van Workplace.

As Davidoff says, we don't know how much is covered by insurance, and that's pretty much the important piece. We can assume it's less than the original 75% since the Mets are able to take him off the roster. How much less is anyone's guess.



At the end of the day, the point remains the same. The Mets official payroll is not nearly what it should be for a NY club in an "all in" year. The actual payroll is substantially less than the official number (taking into account clearing Wright, the Cespedes insurance, and the money coming back from Seattle). This will infuriate some fans (like me). Others will say it doesn't matter. And the beat guys will largely act like everything is fine. And none of this will make a lick of difference.
