nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 It has been announced that Tim Tebow has been promoted and will start the year in AAA by [crossout:3pu7db47]his agent[/crossout:3pu7db47] the Mets GM!
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 oh, he still pretends he plays baseball? I thought he was too busy excusing college football deaths.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 The Rochester Red Wings were promoting this heavily today, pushing their "Mets Pack" for when Syracuse comes to town.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 I believe Sandy Alderson said Tebow could make it to the MLB level

But the one segment within baseball that doesn't ignore Tebow news is the league opponents that will face him for the upcoming season, even once you're out of the south apparently. This week's 'news' from Brodie is really kind of non-news. Given Tebow's age and late start you have to push him aggressively if there is to be any hope at all of him making it at the highest level. There could also be other factors playing into this such as what other OFs they expect to be where when the season starts, but for the most part you'd think this year would be the make or breakone for T.T. so why not AAA? although, if I were 31 and already rich with a lot of free time on my hands during the summer, there are worse things I could imagine than spending it in the minorleagues so maybe his quest will continue beyond this year even if he never gets a 2019 call-up.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 It's a non-issue until/unless he starts hitting like he belongs in the major leagues.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 I'm certain he was on the verge of a AAA promotion when he got hurt. It's non-news to me too, but I guess it's a call that made sense to make early in order to maximize marketing potential.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 He's going to likely spend most of the 2019 season playing here in my town. Maybe I'll see him at the mall I never go to. I could give a half a fig about Tim Tebow. He's just another old minor leaguer without a big league skill set. Roster filler.
