In 2020 $32 million comes off the books between Frazier, Lagares, Vargas, and Swarzak. I'm not even counting Wright in on this because I really don't know what the buyout situation is going to look like or if they are just going to take the insurance payout for two more years.I also think that Machado probably cost himself somewhere between 5-10% of his previous projected earnings due to his performance on and off the field during the month of October. This is financially possible. You are correct sir

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 Personally, I won't be upset if the Mets don't spend a a fortune in pursuit of Machado. With his penchant for lackadaisical play, I don't expect he will play harder or hustle more as he gets older after having cashed in as a free agent. Secondly, I prefer to pull for players that I am proud to see wearing the Mets uniform, Machado seems like a jerk and seems to be a rather dirty player. The Mets have a multitude of needs to fill this off season and I truly hope they a willing to spend some money in order to improve the team, but I'm not holding my breath as long as the Wilpons own the team.

Still very early in the offseason and these are all unsubstantiated rumors, but the tea leaves aren’t telling a great story so far.

What a shocker! Never saw that one coming. And all this time, I was clinging to this thread like it was the best Alfred Hitchcock suspense movie with the twist ending that I'd ever seen. And it was. Holy Norman Bates!
