Which teams do you want to see in the World Series? "I Don't Care" is not an option. Note: this isn't your prediction, just hoping.

Ex-Mets (tell me if I've missed anyone):
Brewers: Curtis Granderson (at least he's on the roster--last year LAD kept him off the post-season roster).
Dodgers: Justin Turner
Astros: Collin McHugh
Red Sox: no one

I'd like to see the long-suffering Brewers fans finally get a championship!

I guess I'd go with Brewers-Red Sox, since Astros and Dodgers were both in it last year.

Also, for what little it's worth, it would be a battle between the two cities that the Braves abandoned.

The Brewers can go choke on moose cock as far as I'm concerned. Fuck them all.

Fuck Josh Hader and his homophobic, racist, dickhead tweets.

Fuck the Milwaukee crowd that saw it fit to give this guy a standing fucking ovation.

Fuck Ryan Braun and his needles in his ass.

Fuck Lorenzo Cain and his 2015 Championship ring (though he seems to be a pretty good guy and handled the Hader situation well, but whatever, fuck him anyway)

But mostly, fuck Bud Selig. The thought of Bud Selig holding that trophy and spraying champagne is enough to make me puke.

Oh, and fuck the Houston crowd too, for giving Yuliesky Gurriel a standing ovation. Trump's America, where racists are the real victims.

Go Sox.

(Think about a world where Boston fans are considered tolerant)

Josh Hader:

In his defense, the racist, homophobic, dickhead tweets are almost 7 years old. And applying the Kavanaugh principle, we really should have no accountability for things that happened "a long time ago" as long as you are a different person now.

The Milwaukee crowd certainly felt for Josh, the real victim here, and gave him a standing O.

Sox/Dodgers, Machado goes hitless and is boo'd in the ravine and
states no way he's signing with LA...

Well, they did recently hurl racial comments at Adam Jones.

So the Dodgers then? Well they have Utley. And their fans took it to the next level by nearly murdering a guy just because he was a Giants fan.

That's it, I'm shutting baseball off.

All good points. The distinction I made was the acts of a few versus the acts of many.

The Adam Jones incident was an individual fan (or a small group). I forget. In any event, afterwards, the behavior was roundly criticized. Same with the Giants fan getting beaten. In Milwaukee and Houston, the entire fan base stood on their feet to applaud racists.

They can go fuck themselves.

Brewers-Astros, though Fenway and Dodger Stadium would be ideal venues. Then again, Minute Maid and Miller mean no rainouts (and lots of beverages).

I don;t really care. I'm sort of indifferent to them all.

The Brewers to me don't look like a team that has enough pitching to win a world series. I don't like their association with Selig, I don't like that they'd rep the NL, and I don't like that they couldn't TCB with the Phillies in one of those years where we blew a playoff spot in the final week ('08 I think). On the plus side they have Granderson.

Dodgers. Don't like that they're owned by a billionaire hedge fund guy, never liked Turner and hate that he's turned into a good player with them. They do have the pitching to win. Would be interesting if they got a chance in a rematch.

Houston. Don't like that they go around acting like they're the smartest guys in the room when it took 3 consecutive 100-loss seasons to get that smart, don't like that they switched leagues, don't like their frequent uniform changes, or their stadium that much. They won last year. I do like Collin McHugh.

Boston: Suspect for 100-win team, no good x-Met representation except Cora and Tom Goodwin and Brian Bannister. Do respect their humiliating-the-Yankees policy.

I'm glad that the Dodgers and Sox knocked out the Yanks/Braves but really don't want to see the same old teams that are always in the playoffs advancing further:

I'd like to see the Astros defeat the Brewers in the World Series

I haven't been around much lately (the Cranepool Forum's post about the yearbook cover derby showed up on my facebook feed, so I checked in)...so I apologize if this has already been covered...but:

If the Brewers and Astros faced each other in the World Series, would that be the first time that featured 2 teams that switched leagues?
As in: the Brewers used to be an AL team (and I don't think that they ever won a World Series in the AL); and the Astros used to be a NL team (and I don't think that they ever won a World Series as a NL team)

Obviously yes, seeing as how those are the only two teams (at least in the WS era -- since 1903) that EVER switched leagues.
There's actually a discussion on this topic (and let's face it, there aren't many topics we miss around here) in the 'Astros/Indians Rooting Interest' thread.

yeah, I figured that prior to me being born, no other teams had switched leagues...but didn't verify it before posting...

and now that I found out how to make the font bigger, I can go read the "Astros/Indians Rooting Interest" thread...

CF made a lot of good points but there’s still Curtis Granderson to think about. I mean, he’s got to be one of the best people to have ever played for the Mets, right? That counts an awful lot here.

Yeah. That’s the tough one. Plus Yelich is a real nice story too.

I should note that all of these rooting interests are theoretical. Sometimes I start watching and I’m shocked that I end up pulling for a different team than I thought going in.

Take ‘99 for example. I hated the Braves more than anything else in the world. When the NLCS ended I said to myself I hope the Yankees sweep those fuckers. Then the games started and was shocked when I found myself rooting for Atlanta. Made me feel sick. I stopped watching after Game 1.

Pretty much there myself. The proof will be in the watching. I think LA and Houston get there again, though-- the Brewer rotation and Boston bullpen are both really, really shaky for teams that made it this far. Boston's pen, especially-- feels a lot like seeing someone revving their late-model Lambo at the stoplight, and then noticing that the front left tire is a (Dunkin'?) donut.

LA-Boston would certainly get media jeans a-creamin'.

So while there is no consensus as to who the Forum definitely wants, it is definitive that no one wants a World Series rematch.

I was wondering why that choice had no votes...didn't make the connection...

As others here have said, I don't have a strong rooting interest, a state which is kind of nice every once in a while.
Usually when that happens I'll just find myself pulling one way or the other without ever really thinking about it.

Will probably pull for Milwaukee over LA, and will probably pull for either NL team over whoever comes out of the AL side, but all that is subject to change.

That said, I think Houston is the best team.
They have the better and deeper starting pitching and, while they lack the shut-down closer, they'll be able to haul [u:8z9z286c]good[/u:8z9z286c] starters out to relieve if necessary (McHugh, McCullers, Morton) as
those guys take a back seat to Verlander, Cole, Keuchel!! Sale & Price not nearly as dependable and neither are the guys behind them.
And while they might have scored fewer runs than Boston, the Sox had most of their offense (minus Pedroia) healthy for most of the season. The Astros dealt with missing Altuve, Springer, Correa
for chunks of the season, some of them simultaneously. Without that injury/stumbling stretch in August I think the Astros win as many or more than Boston.
