Soroka just off the DL. He threw 73 pitches in his last rehab start, so a little patience, maybe some early runs would go a long way towards chasing him and winning this game..

I'm not very confident about this one.
While DeGrom pitches well in day games, the Mets couldn't hit playing a video baseball game.

I don't remember that movie, just Googled it and it looks like something I'd
like and will check it out. Anyway, it's Wednesday and it's Georgia, and the Mets
are due for a double-digit laugher.

Mets 12-Braves 2

Conforto on a 0-22 stretch, that is hard to do

Free Pecan pie to any and all Mets who get a hit. Confident the eight slices I have we be enough.

Slice per hit Metsies

Pie over/under is 8

Another day that ends in a Y...Mets hitless through 3, meanwhile F. Freeman has an RBI. 1-0 Braves bottom 3.

I also thought we left behind the "Mets crap the bed in Atlanta" theme when they abandoned Turner Field.

In a big situation — close game and runners on — who is more dis-spiriting to see walk up to the plate? Bruce or Conforto?

I figure if you're looking for a strikeout on a pitch up, Conforto's your man. If you want a soft liner off the end of the bat into the shift, go for Bruce.

Gonzalez was the double play specialist. That position is currently open.

I could work others into this but you did just fine!!!

If warning track fly-outs and Braves flashy infield D doesn't count, mebbe.

For those not watching SNY, they just gave a tiny tidbit to prep us for the
next series: The Mets have scored just 52 runs in their last 17 games. The
D'backs have scored 51 runs in their last 5 games.

Slight tangent and I'm in full-on "why don't they make the whole plane out of the black box" territory but if MLB really wanted to do something about pace of play and the length of games, they'd make every contest a midweek getaway day game.

If the Mets aren't leading the league in pop-ups caught in foul territory I will eat my hat

1 hit through 7 innings. Yeah, that'll get it done.

You may not be happy with that, but I feel like the Mets avoiding the indignity of getting no-hit so far is a small victory.

Anybody ever win the Cy Young award with a losing record?

A good argument could have been made for Nolan Ryan 1987. 8-16 record, BUT...

led the league in ERA, ERA+, Strikeouts, hits per 9, Ks per 9, and K-BB ratio.

He finished fifth.

That's exactly who I was thinking of when I wrote that post -- Ryan87.
