Edgy says "they're calling up Scott Copeland."

I say "WTH is Scott Copeland?"

Turns out he actually exists, was scuffling along in AA, and now he's a bona fide New York Met. Supposedly.

Seven things you didn't know about this new imaginary Met:
* Gave up eleven runs in 15.1 innings in 2015 with Toronto.
* 21st round draft pick by Baltimore in 2010 out of Southern Miss.
* Is on The Twitters:

* Is not related to Stewart Copeland, as far as I know.
* 4-0, 3.81 in five starts in AA and AAA this season. That's the same number of W's as deGrom, which means he's probably just as good.
* Has a career minor league whip of 1.696. (Yeah, that'll translate well to the majors.)
* Actually started a game against the Mets: http://leaptoad.com/mets/gamedetail.php?gameno=8594

I'm not sure if he is up in addition to or in place of Peterson. Peterson at least gave some reason for optimism.

RA Dickey's still out there, isn't he?

Yeah, but wouldn't you rather have a 30-year-old career minor leaguer with a 1.7 career WHIP? He'll pitch for the major league minimum!
