IGT - May 1 - Braves vs. Mets

So the Tuesday night club met for a pregamer at Mikkeller. Not a bad spot for a beer, I think they had something like 60 or 90 on tap?? The bar however was cut off to walk ups except at one end where a long line formed. So we joined the 2 tap line instead. There was also a guy with a wagon of cans you could flag down.

Tonight we went "excelsior" , came fairly close to a foul ball and had access to the Foxwoods club. What an incredibly poor use of space that joint is, it's about 5 times the size of the Prom Club for about a fifth of the people, the single-passenger SUV of stadium clubs, dozens of unsat-at tables. Cool view of the TV director room on the way in.

Whoever said the Braves were there to make a statement were right; you don't need me to tell you this but they completely ambushed Synderpants.

I think it's time to sit Conforto for a day or three. He is not getting it done as a leadoff guy, or a slugger.

We got pretty excited at the play at the plate (good job, Blevins and Ramos. Cough), the little 9th inning rally etc but they need an on-base guy in that lineup in the worst way.

The between-innings nonsense seems as bland as ever this year, no lame "race" to rip off, still torturing us with pianoman. Last night they had some dude from the Zac Brown band give a live "Take Me Out" - I'm sure that was a promo appearance and not a regular thing. The ZBB is playing 2 dates at CF. Really? I ain't hardly heard of them.

They're actually incredibly talented, and one of the best live bands out there, from what I understand. I keep missing them when the chance arrives, unfortunately, but I'm definitely a fan.

Yeah, ZB (and the ZBB) are kind of hard-edged country so it's not all fiddles and sappy love songs to old dogs and pick-up trucks.
I've seen him on a few television appearances here and there. Did a thing with Springsteen at one of those event-type shows in DC a few years back - although I forget now what song(s) they played.
Has an excellent beard and a thing for hats and other headwear.

If they do that to Syndergaard, I cringe to think what they will do against Vargas.
