Man, that sucks, he was really starting to show improvement. He went from being a .234 hitter in April to a .235 hitter in May. I actually had hope that Semien would rebound this year, even just a little. But it wasn't to be, as he's not even playing up to 2025's numbers, which were pretty bad. Even last year, he had over 3 WAR; this year, he's in the negatives. There's something in the water with the Mets and its effecting the whole team. I wonder if its a toxic clubhouse or what. Rotowire says he's only expected to be out a short while, so this might be one of those trips to the "injured list" that exist more to give the player time to rest and regroup.

This ain't 2024. Time for a fire sale. Keep the good ones so fans have something to watch this season, but everyone being mediocre or underwhelming or bad, just get rid of. Use this opportunity to try out prospects. I'd keep Bichette because he's a big name and a draw. Lindor and Soto, too. But I'd gut everything else. I'd like to see the following moved sooner rather than later: Vientos Baty Melendez Taylor Robert Polanco Peralta Senga Myers Manaea Williams Probably Warren, too; sell high I didn't include Alvarez, because it looks like fate spun the roulette wheel and landed on Alvarez being the one of the three to have a fairly decent season this year (last year it was Baty, 2024 was Vientos), so keep him for now. Plus, he's younger. Keep Mauricio, too, because he hasn't actually been given actual opportunity to fail like the others.

Well, one of the thorns in the 2026 Mets' side is gone, as David Peterson is off to the Cubs for their #2 draft pick in 2024, Cole Mathis. Share all your memories of this now-former Met, who I believe was the longest-tenured Met on the club at the time of his departure.

On the bright side, Bo Bichette's season average is now over .250. But as the team's hitting improves, their pitching is tanking. Over the past 7 days, they're hitting .261/.325/.420 and over the past 14 days, they're hitting .246/.325/.413. Which are both far better than their season totals (.231/.298/.372). However, their pitching over the past 7 days (excluding today) has posted a 6.49 ERA; over the past 14 days, it is 5.78. Their mark on the year is 4.14

Hopefully this is like when they moved Oliver Perez to the bullpen and never ever used him again.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said that Robert "looked normal" while taking a full session of batting practice in the cages Tuesday, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports. The right-hander will be eligible to be reinstated from the injured list Saturday, so his stay on the shelf due to a hip impingement will end up being a brief one. That would put the following Mets at or above .250 for the season: Juan Soto (.301) AJ Ewing (.266) Carson Benge (.257) Francisco Alvarez (.250) Bo Bichette maybe (.248) The season is THAT underwhelming that this is the sort of stuff I'm now "looking forward to." *Jared Young could also get back above .250 if he gets a couple at-bats and a couple hits. All Eric Wagaman has to do is go 1-for-1 to get himself above the Wynn Line**. **Named after Jimmy Wynn, who hit exactly .250 for his career. And if Kodai Senga can go 6 scoreless innings tonight, he will shed nearly TWO points from his ERA, bringing him to 7.20 on the year, which is very respectable by Pecos League standards.

I don't remember much from it, but I do actually remember watching the single game he pitched in., I also remember the predictable results. I remember it was kind of a bloodbath. I remember he and Zack Pop were signed about the same time. Looking at it more closely, he was let go by the Mets, but the Mets re-signed him at about the time they signed Pop. I have no idea why I remember so much about him, but I do. I was watching the games a lot more closely last year than this year. I mostly have them playing in the background this year, with occasional check-ins here and there.
