  3. Ouch.
  4. Totally. I just think it'd be cooler if the other party involved was as excited about it.
  5. Man. What's that like? Having a spouse that's as into the Mets as you are? I've had girlfriends that made a nice effort at trying to be into them but, you know, baseball just weren't their cuppa tea. My wife after years of being inundated with the Mets tolerates them but falls far, far short of being 'into' them. Is it like...great? Any of the kids conceived with Murphy doing play by play in the background?
  6. Bobby Bonilla was, is and always will be a complete asshole. That's why he was booed. Even my 5 year old knows that bullies should not be tolerated.
  7. Awesome how this team just keeps coming back team after team, game after game, inning after inning. Couldn't stay up. Dozed off after the 13th. Was sure the Mets lost when I saw the Phils starting to get to Oliver with that line drive double-play. Figured they'd score the next inning. Pleasently surprised, to say the least, when I found out this morning that they pulled it out. Won't boo Beltran tonight at the game. Am starting to be concerned that Willie's gonna burn this pen out if something is not done for the starting rotation sooner rather than later. Reyes this morning on ESPN when asked about the fatigue factor after a game like that replies with a large toothy grin : "I no tired! I no tired!" Gotta love that kid. Lets Go Mets!
  8. "...experienced soreness in the back of his left shoulder " That's never a good thing for a young pitcher. Here's hoping its not serious.
  9. Oops. Yes I did. Big package going to cooby in tomorrow's mail...

  11. Elster88 wrote: ]Kevin McReynolds? A much better player than Mets fans give him credit for, but he is the poster boy for guys not able to handle NYC Possibly the dumbest accusation, ever, of someone who is unable to handle NYC. I gotta agree with Elstah. McReynolds may have been a hick whose numbers declined each year he was here but I don't recall him having 'difficulty' dealing with the New York thing.
  12. BAN COOBY NOW!!!!
  13. Okay - this is too weird.... http://www.nysportsday.com/themofo/showthread.php?t=29180

Mark Belanger
  19. Dude. Cheap Chuck Norris ripoff.
  20. Thanks for this Edgy. Much appreciated. Between this place, work and life I don't have a whole lot of time left to read all the blogs out there. This feature will work very nicely for me. Rats in the upper deck in the late 70's. Ahh memories.
  21. The Phils come into the Big Shea 3 games behind the Mets in second place, looking to sweep and move into a tie for first. The Amazin's (we hope) have other plans... Our first look at Phillie Phenom Cole Hamels awaits. Supposedly dominating stuff and the consensus is that he will dominate. Eventually. We will see Cuban defector Alay Soler either Wednesday or Thursday. Soler gives his age as 26 but they use different math in Cuba so he could be be as old as 29. This season between Single A St. Lucie and AA Binghamton, Soler has struck out 54 in 47.2 innings giving up 28 hits and walking 11. Starting Pitchers: Tuesday, 7:10pm Gavin Floyd 4-2, 5.71 (last 3: 2-0, 4.43, 16.1 IP) Floyd has faced the Mets three times in his short professional career, starting two of them. He owns a 2-0 record against them with a 5.40 ERA and eight strikeouts. Trachsel 2-4, 4.33 (last 3: 0-2, 3.71, 17.0 IP) Trachsel has struck out Bobby Abreu and Pat Burrell a combined 29 times in 107 at-bats. Wednesday, 7:10pm Cole Hamels, LHP (0-0, 3.18) (last 3: 0-0, 3.18, 11.1 IP) Phenom's control has been an issue in the early going, with nine walks in his first 11 1/3 innings, though he's struck out 10. Jeremi Gonzalez, RHP (0-0, 10.13) (last 3: 0-0, 10.13, 8.0 IP) Gonzalez got as far as facing one batter in the fourth inning in allowing six runs against the Yankees on Friday. Thursday 1:10 Jon Lieber, RHP (3-5, 5.81) (last 3: 2-1, 5.00 ,18.0 IP Lieber has not faced the Mets yet this season and is 5-5 with a 4.23 ERA in 17 appearances (13 starts) against the Mets in his career. Alay Soler, RHP (0-0, -.--) (last 3 in AA Binghamton: 1-0, 2.75, 19.2 IP) In no other season of their last 20 have the Mets used a ninth starting pitcher before their 65th game. Who's Hot: Bobby Abreu 10 for his last 22 Who's Not: Pat The Bat. 3 hits in his last 17 ABs X Factor: Cory Lidle / Billy Wagner / Endy Chavez / Julio Franco
  22. 'Double Play-Rod' hits a 2-run jack in the top of the ninth with the Yankees down 9-1. Yankee fans get more fodder. (can't take credit for 'Double Play-Rod' heard it on the radio today. Cracked me up)
  23. I'ts duck season.
  24. ="SteveJRogers"]="old original jb"]YNAGAYTYAWYW, YNABAYTYAWYL I think Bret Sabermetric used to say this, before he jumped the shark, so to speak (i.e. before so many years of rooting for the Mets made him lose his mind entirely.) Or maybe it was some other sage. Uh, what? You're Never As Good As You Think You Are When You're Winning, You're Never As Bad As You Think You Are When You're Losing
  25. '24' season finale.
