  2. HAIL!

  5. Emergency appendectomy for Nady immediately after last night's game. OE: But you knew that already.
  6. Xavier? Wally Pipp on line 1.
  7. Glad I did my KTE before OO. All other KTEs to come now have to measure up. Nice job O2
  8. ="Frayed Knot"]Of course this countdown isn't reaching fruition until at least next year. And even then it may or may not happen here.
  9. Hey Balby, appreciate your coming down but we're all set for third base for the next 20 years, thanks.
  10. Walt Hriniak & Charlie Lau weren't exactly Lou Gehrig and Ted Williams.
  11. My 9 year-old took a six-week hitting clinic with 3 friends of his last fall from this guy. A super kid. I'm sorry to see he's not moving up the organizational ladder.
  12. I have no list. Just two friends who both have sons named Caleb who tell me that the name is everywhere in boys aged 5-12. Call it an informal poll.

If Soler continues to pitch well why send him down? Send the bullpen-experienced Duque to the 'pen and keep Soler starting. When Bannister comes back ship Bell back down. Well, that's exactly what I said. But I am doubting Willie and Omar's wisdom when a "winner" who can "handle New York" joins the team. I know that's what you said, I was doubting your doubting.
  14. MFS62 wrote: Caleb Clay rhp - I did a search at baseball-reference... He'd be the first major-league Caleb (unless some other minor leaguer named Caleb beats him to it) since 1871. No kidding. He may be the first in over a hundred years but 'Caleb' has had a resurgence in recent years. Prepare thyself for more than a few Major League Caleb's in the not too distant future.
  15. Bor-ing. Nice full page picture of Wright but other than that, nothing to the article.

  17. Elster88 wrote: After Floyd's son comes back I'd MUCH rather see him and Soler get some more starts at the ML level then see El Duque start. There's no way in the world that Willie has the brains to do this one....but once everyone's healthy I'd rather see El Duque in the pen until either Bannister or Soler proves they don't have the ability to start. Why would you think that's out of the question? I'm thinking that that IS the plan. If Soler continues to impress he should keep starting. Bannister showed no reason to take him out of the rotation when healthy and El Duque is a proven bullpen commodity. It's logical, and I'd be more surprised if it didn't happen. And I'll add that if Bannister or Soler do falter in the rotation that with the addition of Duque in the 'pen Heilman should be the first option of those two for a starting role.
  18. ="Frayed Knot"]Meaning that he runs even faster when we put a fake rabbit on the infield From the IGT of the Wednesday night game: Reyes is like a freakin' greyhound. Ever seen a greyhound in full stride? They move so fast and their movements are so fluid. Its like they are floating just above the ground when they run.
  19. Have I mentioned he runs like a freakin' greyhound?
  20. One of you freaks has GOT to be interested in this...
  21. ="Gwreck"] That's Chelley Williams in the middle. (Nicole Vogelsong on the left, Emily Wells on the right) Nice tat Nicole.
  22. No this has now become the Famous Dancers thread. My contribution: Jose Greco's daughter used to babysit me. Ta-da!
  23. metirish wrote: Because of his MFY predigree I am over the moon about this trade, he just knows how to win, like Willie amd like Cairo last season and Stanton and Weathers and every other MFY that has come to the Mets....I can't wait to read Klapisch, should be a real tear jerker on how Hernandez will bring the winning ways to Queens. I used to like irish.
  24. Was at the game as well. Obnoxious Philly Phans (redundant?) all around me. As wild as Soler was in the first the crowd seemed to understand that he was prolly nervous and wasn't really riding him so much. More like trying to cheer him on when he did throw a strike. It was kinda nice. Not like those jerks who boo Beltran. Fun game to be at. Reyes is like a freakin' greyhound. Ever seen a greyhound in full stride? They move so fast and their movements are so fluid. Its like they are floating just above the ground when they run.
  25. cooby - you have something to share with the class?
