  1. My pj's are soft too. I'm not ready to jump out a window yet anyway. Last night that game would've been tied and we would have had a 50/50 chance to win it. Night before was the first time in something like a season and a half that they lost a game they were leading by 2 runs going into the 8th right? And if not for Castillo misplaying that throw and the swinging bunt off Rowand's bat we prolly woulda won that one. Aberration. Both teams have been in position to win the last two games, the Phightin' Phils just got the breaks. If the Metsies got the breaks and won the last two nobody would be panicking. They've played well enough to win. Sure the 'O' has gone dry but it'll be back. Look at the good stuff - Glavine & Perez pitched great, Delgado popped one and had a couple of hits, Wright's Wright, Marlon's a force off the bench, LoDuca's back, etc., etc. Lotsa reasons to stay positive. They'll pull it out today and everything will be as it should.
  2. Never mind, whatever I do fan is my treasue.
  3. ...in my mind. After Glavine came out of the game I placed an imaginary (but very real to me) bet that the Mets would lose. I have never felt so certain about a game's outcome as I did last night. Too bad I wasn't in Vegas. Or maybe not.

He is a regular commentator in the "He Was a Met" (a look back at Met player notables) and "The Team The Time" (a look back at notable seasons). I have this vague recollection that he used to (still does?) write for the show as well. Oh. Am I being Captain Obvious here? You guys already knew of Greg's connection to SNY? Apologies - I don't usually watch SNY unless there's a game on. Still it was a bit of a vicarious thrill for me to see someone I sort of don't really know somewhat at all on the Mets network.
  5. Saw Greg from Faith & Fear on Mets Weekly on SNY over the weekend opining about the '88 Mets. Nice job. Nice shirt. That Mark guy from Gotham Baseball whatever that occasionally posts here to promote his site was on as well.
  6. I'll do Reyes. What's our deadline Edgy?

    RUN!

Willie says: Castillo didn't even see the ball. Not a matter of un-hustle. Willie had no problem with it.

  17. I read all the books but that was like 20 years ago. I've got very little recollection of the plots of each one. Ludlum books being inherently difficult to follow I welcome the Matt Damon movies. I feel like Homer Simpson watching the flicks. Sit back. Eat Popcorn. Enjoy. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
  18. I voted with irish - I liked it, doesn't give you a chance to catch your breath.

  20. Yeah, well then the Majors should take a lesson.

  22. Or catching many balls for that matter.
  23. And so the title of this thread takes on a dual meaning...

It's Neal's 2nd inning at bat that confuses me. If he scored, I'd think there would be a line from 2nd base to 3rd. The other thing I notice is that the scorecard only allowed for nine batters. As far back as I can remember, there would be at least four or five additional lines for substitutes. I'm guessing the '2' next to Hook's name has to do with the second pitcher coming in rather than his being replaced in the second inning. When the second pitcher came in he batted Hook's place and when the third came in he batted in Moran's spot maybe? Thomas and Kranepool both singled and came around to score. No lines from 2nd to third in Kranepool's and Neal's boxes is confusing me too. I'm thinking that both went first to third?
