  1. ] You don't have a guy with a 100-mile-per-hour fastball and keep him as a setup guy. ... You have to be an idiot to do that The owner just called the manager and the GM idiots. How great is that?
  2. Having a German baseball team named the ALLIGATORS is almost as ridiculous as having a German baseball team.

Never meant to piss you off, I never had an issue with him. Just mentioned it because your posts seemed very similar to his - but different.
  17. Based on the true story of the 1971 Baker Street bank robbery which was prevented from being told for over thirty years because of a Government gagging order. The real story of how one of the biggest robberies in British history took place with no arrests ever made nor money ever recovered. Written by Mark Thomas In September 1971, thieves tunneled into the vault of a bank in London's Baker Street and looted safe deposit boxes of cash and jewelry worth over three million pounds. None of it was recovered. Nobody was ever arrested. The robbery made headlines for a few days and then disappeared - the result of a 'D' Notice, gagging the press. This film reveals what was hidden for the first time. The story involves murder, corruption and a sex scandal with links to the Royal Family - a story in which the thieves were the most innocent people involved Go see this movie. Loved it! I gave it 5 looted safe deposit boxes. It had it all, money, sex, drugs, violence, scandal, intrigue, 1971 London. No actors I knew except for Jason Statham. On Edit: Safety Deposit Boxes? What am I - a moron?
  18. I'd never seen anyone wearing red pants until that picture of Edgy.
  19. Yeah Ozzie too. I spent some time in San Diego and remember when he was a Padre before the Cards traded Templeton for him. While he was always a crowd pleaser he was a bit unheralded in SD and actually worked a second job while he was a Pod to make ends meet. Wish I could remember what the job was but I'm drawing a blank.
  20. From today's New York Post: Forty-four years ago today, the Mets' Jack Fisher took the mound as the starter for the opener at Shea. To this day, Fisher remembers who his first opposing hitter was (Dick Schofield), who his catcher was (Jesse Gonder) and what he threw for his first pitch (a strike). The Mets lost 4-3 to the Pirates, with 48,736 in the stands, and Fisher, 69, remembers them being pretty loud. "Raucous, roaring," he said yesterday in a phone conversation. "They were great." Fisher, along with Ron Hunt (first Met run at Shea) and Tim Harkness (first Met hit at Shea), will pull down the Shea countdown number today.
  21. I've always been partial to infielders who flash leather. Flynn, Ordonez, Bowa, Belanger - loved to watch them all. I mentioned once on this board that Reyes was the player I'd been waiting all of my Met fan life for. Not only does he have a great glove but he's a hitter. Who knew you could have both? On the Mets? When Doug Flynn won his Gold Glove there was no one prouder than me. Not even Doug's mom.

  23. My bad for bringing it up then. Didn't mean too piss anybody off, sorry.
  24. I don't have a problem with it, I just think it's interesting.
  25. I didn't think Beltran was a pussy because he didn't like that I booed him. I also liked Rey Ordonez. Sorry, I did. batmagadan seems very familiar to me....
