  1. I could've been in attendance at some others but I know I was there for these three... G-Fafif wrote: Pete Streaks On, 7/25/78 The First Ten-Run Inning, 6/12/79 Armando Short-Circuits Junior ('Frequency' Night), 4/25/00 --Ken Griffey's first game at Shea; he's booed for not being a Met; both teams wear faux-'69 unis; last out on a very cold night is Benitez striking out the interloper; no sign of Dennis Quaid IIRC Tommy Holmes was at the Pete Rose game and went on the field before the game to congratulate Pete on breaking Holmes' NL hitting streak record. 10-run inning game happened on 'Fireworks Night'. Doug Flynn topped off the inning with an inside-the-parker giving cause to the powers that be to ignite a 'Let's Go Mets' fireworks display beyond left field. Saying it now, that doesn't seem like they would have done that but I'm 90% sure they did! Benitez/Griffey game was cool because of the retro unis. The Mets togs looked off-white actually which I thought was just groovy. Robin Ventura ripped his pants from the ass down on a slide (maybe into home?).

    Looser

Yeah - I looked too. No dice.
  3. Sorry - I thought this was a 'Bad Billy Joel Albums' thread.
  4. Better than LoDuca has been so far though. And as Paulie left a game last night after feling 'a sharp pain' in his hand he got into it with some fans as he was going into the dugout. New York Post: ]May 8, 2008 -- Nationals catcher Paul Lo Duca was injured while batting and heckled by fans in the seventh inning of a 4-3 loss to the Astros last night in Houston. Lo Duca doubled over in pain after a swing. The team said he had sharp pain in his right hand and would be examined today. As he was heading to the dugout it appeared that two fans on the first row behind the dugout yelled at him. Lo Duca, whose name appeared in the Mitchell Report, yelled back before going into the dugout. Soon, park security and a police officer came and escorted the two men from their seats.
  5. I wonder how Tim Bishop died.
  6. Seo - love the pictorial! That should be a mandatory CPF thing. Anyone who attends an away game must then provide us with slide show.
  7. Maine - 4.5 Anderson - 1.5 Church -1.5 Wright - 1 Casanova - .5 Castillo - .5 Pagan - .5
  8. I only vote if I'm able to see/hear most of the game in question. I was out of town during the last home series' against the Braves and Bucs. Didn't get to see much of those so I abstained. That's really my only hard and fast rule. While I was away though, I did personally witness a Brandon Webb - Jake Peavey 2-1 pitchers duel that was quite entertaining. Too bad I couldn't vote on that one.
  9. Okay I went to mlb.com and saw what you are talking about. I thought that the name and number would at least be in blue and or orange. You had me all excited wolfie. I've been trying to find somewhere where I could get a '79 home polyester jersey with Flynn's name and number on the back but no luck so far. Your t-shirt thing was the closest I've gotten as yet and, alas, it was not close enough. Enjoy your 'Crazy Pete' Harnisch shirt.
  10. PLEASE...provide a link to where I can purchase a FLYNN 23 shirt! I may just order two and send one Edgy's way as an early wedding present.
  11. Alou - 2 Beltran - 2 Degado - .5 Schneider - .5 Schoenweis - .25 Sosa - .25
  12. Petco - It's where the Mets go (when they're in San Dieg-o)! 100 Park Blvd San Diego, CA 92101 Phone: (619) 795-5012
  13. ]Keyspan Energy is now National Grid. Does this mean a renaming of the Cyclones' home? Most assuredly.
  14. Alou 1.5 Church 1.5 Heilman 1.5 Castillo 1 Pagan 1 Reyes 1 Schneider 1 Feliciano .5 Smith .5 Wright .5
  15. You know what though - there were two plays earlier in the game that if Wright didn't make would've put the game in the Doyers pocket early. As easily as this game should've ended 8-3 Mets, it became a 5-4 L.A. win.
  16. I'll cut A-Rod some slack on this. Watching babies being birthed ain't the prettiest thing in the world. My daughter for one, is a fairly disgusting memory.
  17. I had cut this out and saved it in a scrapbook. It was from Sports Illustrated. As if there were any question I have always been a Mets fan...
  18. HA! Fuck you Pierre! Sorry - too much DodgerBlues today.
  19. DWright seems to be swingin' n' missin' quite a bit lately.
  20. I was watching Joba pitch that 8th inning. Looked pretty hittable tonight.
