  1. Twins are wearing their road caps at home - with the Jackie Robinson patch.
  2. Three, now. Murdoch wasn't even close on some of those.
  3. Forbes Field in Pittsburgh. Was there for eight seasons when Mets played, fewer teams in the NL. No interleague play.
  4. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I think they only played three games in Tiger Stadium. I was there! Riverfront in Cincy?
  5. Rate Field in Chicago among the least.
  6. The Tropicana Dome would be in the least category.
  7. Edgy MD wrote: Shoot me a message when you come to Baltimore. Absolutely! I got a hard hat tour of Camden Yards when it was getting fairly close - there were installing seats in some sections, but still had a long way to go. So I'd love to see it completed.
  8. My fondness for the Marlins has been stated before. I like to visit parks, and if I have a really nice time I develop a bit of an interest in them. I've been to PNC three years in a row and love seeing the Pirates despite the team sucking. I got to see them play the Yankees in the first of those three -- Yankee fans will darn near ruin an experience wherever you encounter them -- and it was glorious when Judge whiffed to end the game with the winning runs aboard. I've enjoyed the White Sox since the Seaver days, and had some adventures at the old Comiskey. We had a fantastic time at Target Field and I've been keeping an eye on them. Planning to go to Baltimore and Seattle this summer. I see the Tigers three or four times a year, and follow them a little. The only team I really hate is the Yankees.
  9. The Hot Corner wrote: With Vlad Jr. off the board, Pete clearly moves to the head of next season's Free Agent class of 1st baseman next season. Boras has to be salivating after Vlad Jr's deal. Boy, I don't know. Vlad is much younger and we see what happened to Pete last year. Don't get me wrong, I hope Pete has a monster season. But I don't think a 32-year-old righthanded first baseman is going to get even half of that next year.
  10. Oh my. I feel better informed, and yet a little poorer for knowing that!
  11. OK, I am often very behind on the pop culture stuff. I saw some references to The Rizzler late last year, and saw he threw out the first pitch in one of the recent games. Looks like a little kid. What's the deal with this and how is he connected to the Mets?
  12. One less potential suitor for Pete next year - and one less potential Mets target at Pete's position next year.
  13. The least classy fans in MLB. Yankees fans chant ‘f–k Juan Soto’ out of nowhere with anger growing for Mets’ $765 million slugger https://nypost.com/2025/04/04/sports/yankees-fans-chant-f-k-juan-soto-with-anger-growing-for-mets-slugger/
  14. Tony Perez is the Hall of Famer.
  15. I have a soft spot for the Marlins. I was able to see their first two games, and one of the World Series games. They train in Jupiter, where my parents live, so I get to see them in spring training or the Jupiter Hammerheads, their Florida State League team. We get to go to a game in Miami once in a while - usually when the Mets are there. Plus, they generally pose no threat to the Mets - with notable exceptions. They do run through managers. They actually had Brandon Hyde for a bit. Lucky for the orioles. I think he was No. 13.
  16. I don't know if you are counting Cookie Rojas's one-day reign as interim as one of the asterisks. Cookie Rojas, former Mets coach, is the namesake of my cat!
  17. The low-hanging fruit is Skip Schumaker, No. 18.
  18. Hall-of-Famer Jim Leyland led them to the World Series in 1997, making him No. 4.
  19. You guys are harsh. This looks kind of fun. A lot of teams are doing this. Just in the games I went to last year, the Diamondbacks and White Sox had racers like former players, the Tigers have cars, the Pirates had perogies. Keep in mind, the demographic posting here is not the intended audience. The old guys like me who still buy a program and keep score will barely look up when this is going on. They're aiming at the kids. As far as the "small town hokey crap" and "This is New York" stuff, dude, we had Grimace hailed as a hero last season. The racing presidents thing in Washington is brilliant. It was cool to see them roaming around before the game. I posed with TR.
  20. Cobra Kai co-creator Jon Hurwitz was on the "Meet at the Apple" podcast last week, and he's a huge Mets fan!
