  1. Great come from behind win!
  2. =Gwreck post_id=197761 time=1752183518 user_id=56] David Peterson has been added to the ASG roster.
  3. I read somewhere that teams tend to split doubleheaders most of the time. Sugano for the O's, Waddell for the good guys. Jessie Winker seems to have hurt himself again and likely won't be in this one.
  4. Ron Hodges played for the Mets a long time!
  5. Rob Zastryzny was a brief Canadian Met, but I don't think he pitched enough to qualify for any trivia.
  6. Lindor, Alonso, and Diaz. Soto will have to wait for an injury.
  7. We're gonna need some of those extra runs from yesterday.
  8. The All-Star reserves get named tonight. Given that every team gets represented and Dave Roberts will likely bring as many Dodgers as he can, I'm curious who will join Lindor from the Mets. I think Soto and Alonso, and maybe Diaz, but that would be a lot of Mets.
  9. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I think he's saying that, with hindsight, the Mets made a mistake letting him get away. Correct. I should have been more clear. I think he was a guy who wanted to come back and was a little peeved that he was not offered a contract.
  10. Phil Maton is having a solid year setting up for the Cardinals, 1-3, 1.91 era with 44 strikeouts in 34 games, 2 saves. Would be nice to have him in a set up role.
  11. Wow. BOOKS! A winning streak!
  12. I can't remember the last time the Tigers had three starters - and it could be four if Skubal gets the call.
  13. It seems like a perfect storm of pitching injuries, young players not performing like they did last year, and guys who should be bench pieces asked to play everyday roles. Right before the Saturday monsoon Tyrone Taylor swung meekly at the first pitch and hit a crappy popup to the first baseman, and I thought, "Why is he hitting sixth?" Really the question is "Why is he the everyday centerfielder?" Vientos looked lost. Friday were sitting behind the Mets dugout and it was quiet. Not a lot of guys leaning on the rail, not a lot of yelling. Now, on the other hand, Soto's home run was an absolute laser. Hopefully Winker, Manaea, Senga come back soon and Alvarez gets his head screwed back on in Syracuse. I don't know what players will be out there at the deadline, but I suspect we'll be giving up some decent prospects to get some pieces.
  14. =metirish post_id=196724 time=1751236093 user_id=72] Great call, how was the incline?
  15. My wife gave me the option of going to the game today. But after the disasters of Friday and Saturday I said, “Nah. Let's go for a ride on the incline and go home.” Good call.
  16. There was a moment of silence before the game. I didn't know it was monsoon season in Pittsburgh.
  17. I think so! Those were drones and absolutely amazing. Those images were all 3-D and moving! We just went to see the Forbes Field wall at Pitt. Today is the 55th anniversary of the final game!
  18. Paul Blackburn vs Bailey Falter, which seems like a made-up name for a snobby villain in a teen movie. My wife and I are going to this one, too. Yesterday was one of those nights where absolutely everything went wrong - and the Mets sucked, too. The drone show was good. Hoping for better today. It really is a wonderful ballpark. Go, Mets!
  19. =whippoorwill post_id=196524 time=1751065311 user_id=79] =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=196520 time=1751061737 user_id=119] It is coming down in buckets here. Thunder and lightning.
  20. It is coming down in buckets here. Thunder and lightning.
  21. Fantastic! I'm headed to Pittsburgh tomorrow! Keep it going!
  22. Friday night is Drone show night (looks pretty cool!) and Saturday is Pirate Parrot shirt giveaway! Sweet! I have tickets to both games. I'm bringing my wife, her first time to PNC.
  23. Jake's no-hit bid ended.
  24. Meanwhile, our old friend Jake is having a "very special game" into the seventh inning. 86 pitches so far.
