  1. Delgado's the one I'm worried about. He looked good on tv.
  2. I missed the first part the first time out, which SNY replayed. The fans gave him a standing O when he came out to the mound. I like. Usually I think New York fans in general are morons, but today I like.
  3. The fans booing the shit out of Willie for coming to get Tom, and then a huge cheer.
  4. iramets wrote: ]He was creamed. But they should have taken advantage of how good he was to trade him This isn't quite the contradiction you seem to think it is. He was a serviceable (you might say competent) back of the rotation starter. A contending team might well have use for such a guy, gambling if they could get a few good innings out of him, maybe they'll make the playoffs, and maybe even further. Not a terrible move for a team in the hunt. But the Mets in my view needed Leiter to be much more than serviceable, and even then they weren't really a post-season team. They were greedy, and the 2007 Mets are playing the price for their greed. Forgive me, please, if I use this platform to vent a bit. You did the exact same thing after 2005. You were all over the people on this board for thinking we shoulda got more for Cameron. Then a few weeks later you were all over management for not getting enough for Cameron.
  5. Can we please just keep that asshole off our team? I like the guys on our team. Except Mota.

  7. I think Beltran is hot.
  8. Glavine with 2 hits, 2 ribeyes, 7 studly innings and some nice glove work? Heard his weekly interview with M&MD earlier this week and he told Met fans to be patient that it will come back.
  9. You're working hard to keep that title of "most worthless" away from rogers aren't you?
  10. Would yelling make Delgado hit again? Would it help Glavine regain his form prior to his last few starts? Would it make Heilman regain his form from early last year? Would it get Alou to stop being such a pussy? These guys seem like they already give a shit, without the need for Pinella-type hystrionics.

  12. I think Hojo was right.
  13. Nathan has the highest save percentage since 2004. Wagner is fourth. I hate my life.
  14. A frozen rope by Valentin caught by Morneau to end the inning.
  15. iramets wrote: ="MFS62"]="Nymr83"]if they didn't already have the discipline? i'll look into it if you give me a criteria to search.... how about players who a) started their major league careers at or before age 21 didn't walk much in the minors and at least their first 2 full seasons... and i'm checking to see how many improved significantly? Check out Roberto Clemente. His OBP for his first few years was terrible. Later You've made this point before, and I've tried to point out that Clemente increased his BA considerably after his first five or so years in the NL, but did not increase his OBP, apart from the BA, very much. His lifetime high in walks was about 55. I know next to nothing about Clemente, but plate discipline improvement can also be demonstrated by a decrease in strikeouts, not just an increase in walks.
  16. Delgado's really a black hole in the middle of that lineup.
  17. I like you m.e.t.b.o.t.
  18. I didn't call him names. I pointed out his supposition without proof is not worth much. I'm not being an unreasonable prick either. If he's going to make a statement he should be prepared to back it up. It's not my job to do his homework for him. Edit: Please show where either of us did the name-calling.

Unless he's going to remind Delgado to hit (and either get Green hot again or heal Alou's owie), then I don't think it'd make a damn bit of difference. For the first time we've been seeing fairly steadily poor work by the staff and bullpen, too.
  20. Nymr83 wrote: i'm not going to do a bunch of work just to have you say my criteria is flawed after the fact, if you'll agree to the criteria i provided, or provide your own, i'll do the work. You made a statement. I point out that unless you have something to back it up then it your statement can't be taken seriously. Then you want me to come up with some "criteria" for you? Give me a break. Let's just leave it as you have nothing to back up your statement. Unless you're hiding some startling and undeniable evidence.
  21. That's not how it works. You gave the hypothesis. You prove it.
  22. Did he pick that one? Not to stereotype too much but that's a very white song.
  23. For tomorrow, do you do whatever it was that you did today? Or do you change more things tomorrow?
  24. Baseball Tonight: The Mets snapped an 11-game non-Friday losing streak.
  25. Did Delgado make the team last year?
