  3. I like using mlb.com for box scores because I think those links will be around longest, but I think I may switch because they don't have easy access to a "how they scored". I think ESPN has how they scored right there on the same page.
  4. I think Wright is getting a little underscored for yesterday's game. Two two-run homers in 3 at-bats. Throw a walk in. If I'm remembering right, one homer tied the other game and the other took the lead. I'd say at least four points. You can't have a much better game then that. I guess maybe three home runs is better.
  5. Why just kidding?
  6. I don't care. I'm getting them all.
  7. Edgy DC wrote: There are backup plans, and there is enough fuel in the lineup that Valentin can't crash this plane all by himself. If the editing/writing thing ever gets boring, I think the suicide hotline could use you.
  8. The other shoe is showing no signs of dropping. And yet I need something to be afraid of.
  9. For the record, LoDuca has the second lowest OBP of any position player currently on the team or DL, one point above Milledge.
  10. ="Edgy DC"]In other words, he unquestionably should be their leadoff hitter. Speaking of batting order, I notice nobody's booing Beltran to send a message to Willie Randolph to bat him second any longer. I think it'd be an interesting thing to try. Move the lower OBPs (*cough* LoDuca *cough*) to the end of the lineup. Also move the slowest (second slowest behind Delgado?) guy in the regular starting lineup (*cough* LoDuca *cough*) to the end of the lineup. That would put two of our top three OBPs hitting 1-2. Also our best two runners. I think lineup mathematics say keeping higher SLGs in the middle overrides keeping higher OBPs at the top though.
  11. Whenever a new page is started people may miss the new posts at the end of the last page. Check out the list at the end of page 7. It's interesting.

  13. Ok, I gotta admit, just the thought of this got me excited. And it is just a thought....and not at all probable one at that. And consider the source, I heard it from M&MD's monologue (hmmm....I guess it's a dialogue with two people). To their credit, they dismissed it almost immediately too. ___________________ But what they said, not verbatim but pretty close, came out of a discussion of the NL East" "The NL East is terrible. The Phillies stink. The Braves are talking about trading people. Apparently, Tom Glavine is running around trying to get John Smoltz over here. I don't see how in the world that happens, but they're best friends." "I don't see how that happens." "Me neither but since they're best friends it's being thrown out there as a rumor." Regardless of what you think of them or their opinion of the Phillies, Braves, and NL East.....the thought is pretty exciting...even as an admittedly unlikely idea. M&MD dismissed the idea. Realistically, I do too. But still. I wanted to post it. Don't throw anything too heavy at me.

  16. Looks like a line drive in the box
  17. I'm thinking we got a pretty durn good bullpen. Just need the closer to get it together.
  18. Been there.
  19. Castro, Pedro, Woodward, and Beltran the only starters without at least 2 hits today.
  20. I dunno. Why not leave Bradford in?
  21. That's cool Irish. He wrote back pretty quickly too. Nice job by both of you.
  22. Castro and Pedro the only starters without a hit today.
  23. Heath Bar is quietly having himself a good year out of the extreme back of the pen.
  24. Runs like a deer.
  25. I gotta think Pedro is more likely to win a Cy Young than Glavine. If the Mets get him more wins and he gets his ERA down around 2.50 or so his strikeouts could seperate him from the rest of the league. Coupla big ifs in there.
