  2. Saw it in Virginia, and called Piazza's shot to my Brave-fan buddy. Well not so much called it as had this exchange. Buddy: Piazza's getting old isn't he? Me: Well, maybe, but these days all he does is hit home runs to tie or win games. He's great in these spots. B: Yeah, sure, ok, rig--- Mike: Kaboom. The timing was absolutely perfect. I can't imagine having actually been there.
  3. ]A planned segment with Wright and Letterman hitting baseballs on West 53rd St. was rained out. Rats. Link
  4. I just figured my permanent designation would be an easy selection, given my handle.
  5. Oh. That's too bad. I thought reaching 11,000 posts doesn't mean you can be anyone you want. Would someone who wanted to stay as Seaver be allowed to stay as Seaver?
  6. Edgy DC wrote: Eleven thousand posts and any reasonably tasteful non-player designation is available to you, Mettle included. Only non-players?
  7. My apologies WP. I knew it was you who started this thread, just couldn't remember who tried to get Mr. Christopher here.
  8. That's somewhat similar to what Jim Rome got slapped around for.
  9. Impressive. There were four run-scoring plays in the entire game, and they managed to miss one as they edited the game into a 3 hour TV spot. Most impressive.
  10. Are these leftover pictures from when you couldn't get some Mets to join the forum for a Q&A? I can't remember who it was. Joe Christopher?
  11. metirish wrote: Damn good to hear Fran again. Are you really waxing poetic about Fran? Getting rid of him was hard-earned and well-deserved.
  12. Disagree 100%. He is just as strong as he used to be, as has been clearly shown up to and including this year. He's just not as quick with the bat speed as before.
  13. TBS
  14. Pedro was recalled from Norfolk?
  15. Garcia = shady.
  16. Bud's a jerk anyway.

They'll know after tonight that they'll need to reserve hotel space in Boston, for instance, for these dates but not those, while doing the opposite in St Louis, San Diego, etc. So he reserves them for a few extra days. No big deal. Another hole. He can't start reserving hotel space right now anyway because he won't know exactly which dates the games will be on until the LCSs are over anyway. At least I think. Next year I think they have a specific date set aside for Game 1 of the WS. Not sure. Either way, Bud's a jerk about this.
  18. But I wanna go to Game 7 at Shea.

  20. You better be sorry. Do some work around here for once. Hopefully it's obvious that I'm kidding.
  21. Wow, the Wifey Chart could use an update.
  22. Are those prospects studs? Or has Huff's value dropped?
  23. Did anyone figure out who Captain Red-Ass is? That name slightly spoils a great cover.
  24. Beat you to it in the IGT.
  25. Do one better and post it on Youtube.
