  1. Mets are away. They split the first two, with help of a rain delay. And they're tied 2-2 in the 7th against their ace. That's just fine.
  2. Your guy? Porque?
  3. The trade dealine is in 11 days? Geez, where did the summer go?
  4. Boston fans want to play the "Arroyo's only pitching well because he's in the National League" card. But when you strike out Beltran, Delgado, and Wright back-to-back-to-back, you're pretty fucking good.
  5. Sucks when a guy finds the exit to the Interstate when he's playing your team.
  6. Glavine 54 pitches through 4. I'll buy that.
  7. ="Zvon"]Met fans- Unite & assemble for the Xman! I've seen this pic a few times, but I don't know what it is.
  8. Rough month for Pedro.
  9. Reyes 2.5 Wright 1.5 Heilman 1.5 Trachsel 1

It was a bad trade, and as time goes on it keeps getting worse. We (collectively) need to move on, though. I don't know why fans have to spend more time thinking about how bad the Nolan Ryan trade was than they spend thinking about how great the Keith Hernandez trade was. Y'see the thing is (or at least I think the thing is, I'm too young to know) that no one new Ryan would become that nasty, right? Were people against the trade at the time? I could be wrong here but that's why I think the Kazmir deal is different. The majority of the people I know were immediately thinking, "What the HELL are they DOING?"
  11. ]Padres fans know that they can count on two things: Trevor Hoffman nailing down saves and Haha.
  12. How many perfect 6's in the two years? I see none in 2006.
  13. ]Facing a daunting lineup (the Reds lead the National League in homers) at a hitter-friendly stadium, Pelfrey allowed seven hits all singles and permitted only two fly balls. He walked three and struck out three while throwing 98 pitches (he threw 104 in five innings in his last start) in making the sort of progress the Mets anticipated and Pelfrey expected.
  14. The concept of a FIP, Fielding Independent Pitching ERA, intrigues me.
  15. ]There were two on and two out in the fifth inning Tuesday night, and Mike Pelfrey was one errant pitch from walking the Reds slugger Adam Dunn to load the bases for Ken Griffey Jr. Pelfrey had thrown four consecutive fastballs, the last three out of the strike zone, but he needed to clear his head before rifling his fifth. So he bent to retie the laces on his right shoe, spending about 20 seconds. Then, with similar care, he got Dunn to foul off another fastball, then wave at a sailing 96-mile-an-hour heater to end the threat Gary and Keith talked about the laces too, and compared it to Franco tying his on the mound all the time.
  16. Beltran 5 Pelfrey 3 Nady 1 Valentin 1
  17. Great IGT tonight fellas. I'm out.
  18. "Let's Go Mets" can be heard all over this ballpark.
  19. Who played center for last year? Because it sure wasn't this guy.
  20. Zvon wrote: ="Elster88"]The Braves are up 10 Cripes-again? Yup. Now 13-2.
  21. A 3-4-3 play ends the home eighth. Not a double play. The ball bounced off Delgado.
  22. metirish wrote: Keith.... "anytime you have Jose Valentin hitting 8th that's making a statement"... Who would have thought anyone would have been saying that about Jose after his terrible start. Exactly. Until this year the statement would've been "We need a new shortstop."
  23. Final: White Sox 7, Tigers 1. I think they have owned the Tigers all year.
