1. Play ball.
2. Why are we so sure it wouldn't affect EV? It seems to infer that most of the 'wind' is out in the outfield, but is that true? It hasn't been windy any of the times I've been on the field, but swinging into the wind has to impact bat speed right? Humidity would be the other thing, but you'd hope they'd be able to measure that?
3. In the source, you'll see '' that begins the hidden part. thanks. I guess I suck at scrolling. I searched for the text above it but it didn't seem to continue.

5. it's the exit velocity, whether or not that translates to reduced offense. It's not necessarily a problem, but if the Mets could figure out what was causing it, maybe they'd be able to tap into a bit of a home field advantage.
6. http://www.ceetar.com/optimisticmetsfan/2019/04/03/new-york-mets-2019-in-beer/http://www.ceetar.com/optimisticmetsfan/2019/04/03/new-york-mets-2019-in-beer/ I've been slacking in my getting to the ballpark. Only made Opening Day last year. I'm determined to make a few more games periodically this year, including the debut of the youngest ceetarette. Anyway, beer keeps getting better! Lots of great beer. drink all the beer. Going to check up on Mikkeller NYC on my way in tomorrow. Try out that new 7 Line collaboration beer, even if it's a sessionable pilsner.
7. We discussed it late last season. Citi Field depresses exit velocity, and no one's totally sure why. It depresses it for both teams of course. I assume that's what it's about. paywall'd as well.

Zack Greinke.
9. sorry, what about Citizen's Bank Ballpark now?

From the few at-bats I've seen, it looks like he's taken this advice too much to heart. He's chasing after crap pitches with weak swings. Very un-Nimmo like. But, yeah...two hits tonight when he pinch hits for Vargas leading off the eighth and we bat around and score five. Vargas is in the middle of a shutout, but he's thrown 102 pitches and Mickey doesn't want to push him too hard in his first appearance. You heard it here first. Well Nimmo is leading off playing LF, so he's not eligible to pinch hit.
12. Nimmo will have 6 hits tonight, heard it here first.
13. =Centerfield post_id=6069 time=1554235181 user_id=65] Those charts are not good right?
14. I feel like he stopped attacking the ball in the second half. There was a little drop off there. Mostly at the end. tiredness could've played a roll I guess, because he did find it for a stretch there in teh second half.

I was using hyperbole above but there's an argument that in the case of Lagares' stupid bunt attempt that there may come a time later in the year where they will really need one and knowing how it played out on April 1 might be useful after all. Or not. Valentine used to do idiotic things in April and May too but managed differently in August and September, and I thought he was a good manager good points. This is especially true of bullpen usage. You have so many guys. The Mets used 25 last year. You gotta get a feel for what they can do, where they can do it. what conditions, particularly non-stat ones, that they thrive under. I don't think anything he did was 'crazy shit' either. I'm anti-bunt all around. I might've considered it with Nimmo where the rough math suggests it's probably beneficial. I wouldn't have bunted with Lagares at all, especially in a game he homered in. Especially as he's a faster guy. I always figure you need another hit anyway, I'd rather try to get those hits early and try to score the run with the out than try to advance the runners with the out and try to score with a hit.
16. still too soon to worry much. Think he'll be fine.
17. Using the Citi Rewards program will make you the PigPen of glitter.

19. didn't like my brief thread description? ;-O

21. I missed his second AB, but didn't he drive the first one the opposite way to deepish right? checks 96.5 EV, 325 feet. .340 expected batting average on that. I suspect if Mes had just reported he'd get released when d'Arnaud was ready. But who knows now. They'll probably hold him on principle for a little while longer unless someone actually wants to trade for him.

23. A lot of information provided... but it's a shame when SI (see: http://thecranepool.net/phpBB32/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28089here) produces an article that cries out for firsthand, experientially-derived opinion, and they give you one that's pretty obviously born of internet research/electronic press releases. (With nary an attempt to disguise it, either.) I'm curious about the new 7-Line-themed Mikkeller, personally. This is actually better than roughly 99% of ballpark reviews though. They reached out directly to teams and got real responses, it wasn't just marketing copy. And obviously there can be no experience of it yet, as everything changes between seasons. I'll let you know though, I'll be at Mikkeller when it opens Thursday.
24. Which is why Roth's tired "LOLMets why are (we) here!?!" take was so out of place. Didn't even know he was there. Glad he's getting a shoutout for the QBC but I think his video mostly disproves his hypothesis.
25. =Fman99 post_id=5578 time=1553872012 user_id=86] I get it, build more off days into the schedule this time of year to account for weather. Still, off days also suck.
