  1. that's true. it also makes me wish someone has started a campaign to get everyone to submit their images as Simpson yellow.
  2. cutout presumably is there for all 30 home games. and yes, handling/order fees because all online systems make sure to nickel and dime you. They're basically keeping season ticket holders money for an extra year right? Even on a $40 seat at 1% return, that's ~$400.
  3. doesn't look like anyone got particularly creative. I was hoping for a bunch holding signs, or like photoshopped with blue and orange hair, or whatnot. *shrug* Or holding your pet. I also think it'd have been cool if you could select spots. Put me at the beer stand in CF for instance.
  4. badmouth everyone that's not there.
  5. yes, I know, it was as play on words of the real thing, but the joke isn't a joke without the racist original. I don't know if that's enough to defuse it. If Dae-sung Koo founded an NHL team, it wouldn't be okay to call them the Koo Klux Klan.
  6. 22 minutes

Guess what it has? ;-) And guess what I haven't gone shopping for yet? Lol, I thought we were talking post-purchase pre-setup. Skype is still around, i used it yseterday to record a podcast. Skype for business, which was a different thing for some confusing reason, was rolled into Teams.
  8. With Washington and Cleveland and Atlanta And Kansas city and Chicago and.. and.. a lot of it's the roleplay as other people that drives a lot of the disgust with it. You're a mascot for our amusement, etc. The Rangers are a little different. (And I don't know how much of this translates to the 'spin off' name in NY) Instead of the race being the mascot/theme, it's the killing of them that's the theme. It's slightly more hidden than if they'd gone with like Texas Apache" or something. But we're past that. The Rangers were not a glorious part of history, they're not something to be celebrated. You can't spin it anyother way. If 'Mets' were established for some racist reason, but now it's branded and marketed and described as being just 'the city' or whatever, I think that's fine. If the Pirates were named for some particularly horrible pirates and pirate actions, and then changed it completely to be a cartoonish modern day amalgam, I think that's be fine. There are probably a whole bunch of other names, especially in college, that are due for a change. my middle school changed Gladiators, I don't know why, but I could see glorifying the battle of slaves for your amusement to not be the best mascot. It's not an easy thing, but it's 2020, we can try to be a little more inclusive in general. It's just a name, change it to something that doesn't remind people of bad things.

  10. I probably won't make it. That's prime "scramble for bedtime" territory, plus I'm antisocial. Maybe If I remember I'll set up a livestream of my Mr. Met bobble for you.
  11. make sure your Zoom virtual background game is sound. if you click through I uploaded 8 or so fun ones.
  12. no one knows. a lot of them are simply asymptomatic, so probably. Mets say there have been no baseball injuries, so Cano is a good candidate, but that could simply mean he's been in contact with someone that tested positive.
  13. sure, you can convince people of anything, it's basically Qanon's motto. But it won't _actually_ be true.
  14. probably third on the list. Cleveland is in the works and Atlanta has their back up, so lets get at it.
  15. reminder that Cano outhit Alonso in the second half a year ago.
  16. one year.. 2018? They had some of those like, street fair donuts where they pour the batter in and you watch it float in the oil to the end and they fresh coat it in sugar? those were good. I try to get in once a year just to see what's up. Decent 5 minutes to AC it up too, if you need. That's about the extent of it.
  17. are we talking Citi Field? I've got huge changes planned. 1. Promenade Club. KABOOOM. now that entire section is going to extend out, taking over the 400 sections in front of it. (there can still be room for a few of the cameras that are there) Instead of the seats there there are going to be 3-4 SRO type aisles, at graduated levels, to watch the game. You'll be able to see. you'll be even closer, because we're going to extend it out above the press box a little more. Above that will be the best beer stand in professional sports. Each homestand will feature a new NYC area brewery with a custom made rivalry beer for one of the opponents. Also probably a few kegs of beer FROM that rival's city, if it can be worked out. This will be roughly where the prom club is now, but open air, public access. WEll open air to the sides. There will likely be a roof on it, which is a larger 'rooftop' standing area in front of the 515ish stands. You'll be able to see some/most of the field, though not home plate, because this will be a little set back, but Citi needs more SRO spots that are in front of the seats, not hidden behind it. Most of the baseball/The Piazza/rotunda roof area that exists now will be there. Big Apple Brews will go away again, so you can see the whole baseball. Probalby moving to more of the standing tables, like out in the OF, there, with the kiosks still around it. Also food, which will be similarly rotating, with a few staples. Nothing that has to cool long though. No made to order nonsense, plenty of staff, plenty of turnover. as quick in and out as possible. In my Citi Field, you'll be able to order from every stand before you get there anyway.
  18. I'd be a meddler, absolutely be a meddler. I'd also end up pissing off 30 of the other 29 owners with all the wacky (and progressive) Things I was doing.
  19. I mean, I like it, it's fun. But it's just a fun event, it's not With all eyes on him, many looked at Alonso's presence in the derby as the apex of the season. yeah no. But consider the source, so..
  20. okay, now where's the 2022 schedule? we're just gonna keep going with this right?
  21. it is and you're wrong and I don't care to argue points with you that were resolved and over-analyzed decades ago. you're wrong, it's been beat to death and a teensy little line item on a budget somewhere, maybe not even the Mets budget is not even worth mentioning once never mind regularly, all day, every year and the only reason I haven't muted this thread is because i'm depressed and board and mindlessly distracting my brain. If I borrow $5 from you to play poker, promising you $10 in the future, and then win $20 it's not particularly interesting that I lost it all in the slot machine, except maybe I didn't lose after all, I just said the slot machine took my money because the poker game was rigged and someone thinks I should repay the money I won there to the players that lost.
  22. but that's all wrong, and they DID invest with Madoff, and DID get 10+% returns for another decade. But this has all been rehashed and debunked and it's nothing, and also it's literally what like every team does. The story here is that media and bloggers and forumites drag it up every year like it's a #LOLMets gotcha when it's not, it's just MLB teams business as usual, and the Mets are 1 of many and not special, in either direction.
  23. I can take it darker if you like. what do you think the odds are that the Wilpons/media count Bonilla's contract as part of the "bleeding money!" cries about how much they're losing a year?
  24. it's not really an argument, it's just truth. "Bobby Bonilla Day" is a reflection (a poor one) on the media.
  25. oops, silly google. it's called "Spanking the Yankees: 366 days of Bronx Bummers by Gabriel Schechter"
