  1. Didn't make it this weekend, pondering seeing it in San Diego next weekend.
  2. G-Fafif wrote: My boy is Sterling from Kingsport, and headed for Savannah. He talks to ESPN NY about growing up loving the Mets and now, like Mark Wahlberg in Rock Star, being one of them. good for him. everytime i hear his name it reminds me of the books I read as a kid with the main character was nicknamed Cam cause he had a photographic memory. I think they solved crime or something.
  3. Welcome to the bigs. Make us proud.
  4. will play in winter leagues in Arizona.
  5. judging by my first picture, looks like Leather's got a little tongue thing going.
  6. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: This guy's DOMINATING in relief so far (5 IP, 3 baserunners, 11 K). I think he had two baserunners yesterday, but they weren't hard hit balls or anything. one was a walk. He looked real good.
  7. This one would've been nice in focus. Why i need a real camera. And this one's a quick video of one pitch: https://picasaweb.google.com/OptimisticMetsFan111/SIYankeesAugust5th#5637607493981944594
  8. #Bisons select Josh Satin as Player of the Week: http://ow.ly/5VlfW
  9. Not having a great season, and missed a good chunk with an injury to his left hamstring. He's hitting .228 for Binghamton, his first promotion above A ball.
  10. ended his on base streak in his second game with Buffalo where he struck out twice and grounded into a double play. But now he's got a 10 game hitting streak going again, and his hitting .341/.396/.455 with the Bisons. crazy high BABIP, but whatever, he's smoking the ball. Not really walking a ton and striking out a bunch, but pretty much getting it done.
  11. apparently demoted back to St. Lucie after batting .206 with Binghamton just a couple of days ago. I was surprised when I heard his name listening to the Johan broadcast.
  12. Edgy DC wrote: Do you say DEN Dekker or den DEKker? I do the former. former. Trying to remember if i've heard it spoken anywhere official. in Spring Training probably. They must announce each player coming to bat right?
  13. This tweet amused me. Feels like both the appropriate and inappropriate venue for it. Hooters with the boys for the WNBA all star game
  14. oh look, facebook. Nothing good public though, except his other activities and interests Abraham Joshua Heschel Day School- Alumni Network, Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project, ThinkCure!, Jim Rome, BearTerritory.net, Wilmer Flores Oh, and he went to a Jewish (High) school apparently. If someone was ambitious wonder what photos could be found on their page. http://www.heschel.org/page.cfm?p=9
  15. He's not on the 40 man, but he's going to have to be added before the rule 5 anyway, he'll be eligible for it next year. So he could be a guy that we see in September. Between him and Valdespin (and Murphy and Turner) I imagine there is no chance the Mets are looking to buy an infielder this offseason.
  16. The righty infielder (plays first, second, and third) is 26, drafted by the Mets in 2008 out of UC Berkeley. Was last year's FSL top All-Star, and made the ESL game this year. .322/.421/.538 with 11 home runs and 2 SB, so I imagine he profiles more towards the corners than second. (Except of course, if he wants to play for the Mets) He extended his consecutive games on base streak to 43 straight. Yeah, 43 straight. The next best streaks in the Eastern League this year? 27.
  17. Be a good name for a dominatrix. I demand an explanation of why he's named that.
  18. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: After a half-decent-but-for-two-HRs (5 1/3 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K) start against New Britain on the 9th, Hyoo-rees was named to the Eastern League all-star team for Wednesday night's game... ... where he showed, but didn't play... ... and now he's shut down for a start. ("Rest," says B-Met pitching coach Marc Valdes.) Yeah, I have no idea either. Innings limitation? He is just 21, and pushing 100 innings on the season already. (3-3, with a 2.63 ERA/1.14 WHIP over 16 starts combined, with 100 K, 33 BB, a just-about-1-to-1 GB/FB ratio, and a low low .214 BAA.) 100 seems like a lot so far. how many did he throw last year? (121, and 134 the year before) I doubt they'd want to push him much beyond 150 or so right?
  19. No 2 for 1's at Chillis in Connecticut?!?! Addressing all our concerns.
  20. bmfc1 wrote: If we're going to stay NL-only, we should cut an OF spot and 2 or 3 bench spots so more players are available as FAs. I recommend a switch to ESPN. The interface is far superior to Yahoo! I've never liked most of the other formats, but I agree on cutting an OF spot. not enough players out there. There are like 7 guys that aren't on teams and they get 2-3 AB a week.
  21. In a different league, was Offered Michael Cuddyer or Carlos Pena and JJ Hardy or Asdrubal Cabrera for Reyes. Can't. Practice what I preach. Reyes Will. Not. Be. Traded. besides which, in this points league he's 9 points ahead of Matt Kemp who's second and 35 ahead of Adrian Gonzalez who is third.
  22. Sure, he went 0-4 with a walk for Binghamton today, but he also pitched a scoreless inning, 1 hit, for a games finished!
  23. Promoted to AA. 24. I can't wait until some creative announcers says he's "Flashing the Leather" when he makes a good play. twitter says he's signing Sunday.
  25. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Near as I can tell, between his childhood, HS, college, and his pro career, this is the first time homey's left the state, ever. And the first place he sees outside of Florida is going to be...Binghamton? yikes.
