  1. i call hogwash mostly. They don't want it back. I'm firmly of the belief if they say, hung out here every day, or went to games with friends, they'd get into it. Anyone would. When you incorporate something into your life, you get passionate about it.

The name of that pet goat? Murphy. Want more Murphy? The name of the Cubs owner when they last won the WS in 1908? Charles Murphy The name of the GM of the team (Mets) that broke the Cubs hearts in the pennant race in a year (1969) that the Cubs assumed they'd get to the WS? Johnny Murphy The Mets announcer that year? Bob Murphy The home stadium of the team (Padres) that eliminated the Cubs in their first playoff appearance since 1945? Jack Murphy Stadium And then Daniel Murphy happened. There was a Daniel Murphy that beat them in the 1910 WS I believe.

  6. damn exhausted. Teething is a bitch ;-)
  7. Maybe you don't feel complete because you're used to seasons ending either in disaster or a whimper.
  8. Centerfield wrote: Mike Hampton was the NLCS MVP in 2000. He left via free agency after that year, and the Mets were awarded a draft pick. They selected David Wright. I'm just saying. Thanks Bing Devine!
  9. deGrom, Thor, Harvey. or maybe deGrom, Harvey, Thor. Wait and see what the series is at before deciding on deGrom short or Matz.
  10. it must be. I'm told the Nationals are one hot streak from sending the Mets packing.

Nobody's gonna believe me, but I had a similar feeling. Prolly cos Cal was pimping the "improvement in his stroke" so hard. see, I tweeted that he'd hit one or two today. ;-) Stop using that emoticon! It reminds me of the WS code you got from T7L. ;-) the one that's getting me into game 5 of the WORLD SERIES?!?!?

  14. teams down 0-3 in a best of 7 are 5-28 in game 4.

  16. 10/16/2000 I was in my dorm room watching. My roommate and the guy across the hall wanted to play a prank on the neighbor by blasting music through the walls and were annoyed that I wanted the tv volume up to listen to the Mets celebrating the clinch. I've been to every home NLCS game since now that I think about it.
  17. this just means he'll do less "Noah pitched six innings and struggling in the 6th" and more "Noah is a racist asshole who.." or something. less news stuff more story.
  18. d'Kong76 wrote: I've been largely staying away from the media because of time and over-saturation but am I the only one who saw Harvester is still hurting and possibly can't go in a Game 5 if needed? he's fine.
  19. in fact Kirk and Kevin are the only two guys that didn't get into the NLDS (Besides Reynolds) They've only used 18 guys in the NLCS so far.

Sticks to his guns. He's shown little tendency to get anybody else in there. Nieuwenhuis hasn't appeared at all right? Nor Plawecki.
  21. There are roughly 2.5 trillion valid passwords. gimme a minute.

  24. dinosaur jesus wrote: If the series ends tonight, then yeah, Murphy's the MVP. But if it goes 7, then we're less than halfway through right now. Murphy could go cold while someone else steps up, or maybe DeGrom could pitch a gem in game 7. Or, you know, the Cubs could win the thing, and then the MVP is some doofus in a blue uniform. shh. yeah, I guess if it gets extended and one of the starting pitchers did something in 6 or 7 to clinch it, maybe. But the production in the wins seems more important than the losses, and with Murphy with such a nice lead 75% of the way there..
  25. Murphy's clearly the NLCS MVP right? Is there anything that can happen in the Mets 4th win to stop him? Familia getting a 4th save? David Wright with a 3/4 2-HR game? (i briefly look for a postseason WPA leaderboard and couldn't fine one)
