Evan Roberts of WFAN, who looks terrible, was IMO just performing schtick and not actually answering questions. I maintain the organizers need to find a way to reduce admission prices (take a cut of the food and drinks or soemthing!) and would hope they could avoid scheduling it against "SABR Day." I'll mention that though they didn't really make any money and didn't sell out, so I'm not sure the best way to do that. The signings/stars are clearly the draw and those are expensive. That's not true, I/they DO know how to do that but it's not up to them. The Mets could 'assign'/give/front the money for an Alumni or a current player or something. Or they could front/comp the cost of using the Ceasars/Foxwoods club as the location. Or hell, they could take notes and just let these guys/us run the damn fanfest and make it official. I don't know the story with Evan, I meant to ask. He was a 'mystery' guest but i feel like his promotion would've sold some tickets? Probably something WOR related. I thought he had the most reasonable take on the stuff actually, but I don't particularly agree with Rubin or Cerrone's viewpoints on things. The Uniwatch panel, as usual, ran long. ;-)
