If someone picks up the team mid-season then we do nothing and just go with it. (though to be fair I'd let them cut all the players I filled the team with for free. Barry Bonds, Tim Wakefield, etc) My initial thought is just to spread the love around. Everyone can protect 3 players, the new owner would take 1 player from each team. They'd start with 11 players and I think that's a fine number. I'd want to do this before the keeper deadline.

  3. Robles was a little wild last year, I think he'll tone it down and be excellent this year, workhorse. 92 IP. 9.9 K/9, 3.1 BB/9. 2.9 ERA. 3 saves, 1 of the three inning variety. Never finds Gretel.
  4. Ceetar wrote: Clayton who? this is the short answer. the long 222.2 IP. 10.7 k/9. 1.95 bb/9. 2.22 ERA. 7.5 fWAR. Cy Young. 9th in MVP voting. Kills someone in Game of Thrones. Gets the cast of the Avengers to ride with him on the World Series float. Pitches a 1-hitter, the hit will be leading off the 8th and will be off the bat of Angel Pagan. Leads the league in strikeouts. Max speed on a pitch is 101.6 (was 101.4 in 2016)
  5. 8. Val Pascucci?
  6. metsmarathon wrote: no deal. can't quite make it to the draft tonight, and no time to prepare even if he could. do we just let the team ride through the season, and let it get picked up at the end of the year? or let in some rando, either now or after the draft? I don't think we can let someone in after, with all the real players taken, if that happens, I dunno.. I feel like if we don't have someone by draft time I should release all his players though. It's open to random people. Anyone that wants to claim the team can claim the team. The team's already pretty bad, but a team starting from scratch in 2018 against keeper teams is pretty hopeless. If that happens I think we all have to agree to give the new team a player or something in advance, but we'll worry about this then.
  7. metsmarathon wrote: though i may see if i could recruit a mets fan that i work with. that would probably be better! Yes. anyone that knows someone that might want to play ,reach out! hell, even if they just want to play with the auction draft. I'd rather have the 12th team at least drafting and having a roster so that we could presumably pick it up next year if we had to, without having to figure out if we need to have an expansion draft or something.
  8. seawolf17 wrote: Is it weird that I'd rather just cut the team than have a rando? I kind of like just playing against y'all. to be fair we're only at 7/12 Crane Poolers at the moment anyway. well, 7/11. I don't think it's a big deal if no one claims the team, but it'd be nice if _someone_ played. At the very least make the team more competitive for next year because if we just go without, it'll be tough to have someone join with an empty team against all our keepers.
  9. oh duh, 5. is Ramon Martinez the guy Jerry Manuel discovered on his bench late in 2008 when he finally realized Argenis couldn't actually play.
  10. 7. Tim Redding?
  11. 6. is Jeff Conine maybe, though I feel like he got more AB than that.
  12. There's an "available owners" list on Ottoneu of players looking for a league so I'll probably just grab someone randomly. I should briefly screen them though. Sample questions? Roger Clemens is ____? The ___ will win the World Series. Captain America's real name is _____?
  13. metsmarathon wrote: so... um... do we have a replacement owner for initech yet? no. any ideas? It's probably not the end of the world if we go with 11. Worked for Spinal Tap. or someone random might claim.
  14. Frayed Knot wrote: So the legal system has run its course, we're within two weeks of the opening of the season, the DR has been eliminated from the WBC, and we still don't have a decision from the commish's office on what, if any, suspension JF is going to be hit with to start the year. he reported back and had a press conference yesterday. So I expect we'll hear today, now that he's clearly just a random Mets player and not in any way representing MLB and showcasing the sport on an international stage. There's no hypocrisy there. move along.
  15. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Having trouble getting in. Halp! (Also, #TeamThursday) Thursday. What's your username? I'll try adding you back. otherwise I can force abandon the team and you can 'claim' it. Same for Vic if he wants in, otherwise i might have a line on another maybe?
  16. A Mets hat appears in the next episode as well, in Joey and Chandler's apartment. (Friends is in this season with the Mets right?)
  17. Not sure what the expiration date is for some of these, but when Rachel goes to return Barry's engagement ring in episode 2 of Friends, there's a Mets hat on the door. somewhat bold, as the Mets were supposed to host Pittsburgh the day it aired, but instead were home for months.

By placing him between the Rookie level teams and Port St Lucie, this at least partially kills those theories that this is all an attendance ploy for one of the Wilpon-owned minor league squads. Columbia's a new affiliate. Help them out. good PR.
  19. Harvey exits after 74 pitches. Building nicely.
  20. Edgy MD wrote: Ceetar wrote: WOR guys are saying the radar gun is always broken in Lakeland and don't have velocities for Harvey. Great job by Mr. Spicer there. would be a nice conspiracy theory. they got it working I guess, 93-94 on average through 2.

  22. This week snuck up on me. I feel like I had at least 40 more hours of sleep that I expected before... oh right. Can someone ping Vic? I don't think I have external contact for him and if he doesn't want to play I should probably find someone else.
  23. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Always easier to push up than back! The future is unlimited!! I'll decide/email after lunch when/if Vic and Deathship get back to me and we actually have full 12?
  24. Actually, I just tabulated all the responses I got and it does seem like Thursday is better, though I worry non-responders might not be good for that date and are just lazy about telling me and could lead to a hissy fit.
