  1. The Trouble With Harry is a favorite of mine both for its dark humor and technicolor representation of autumn in New England.

  3. I always loved his appearances on Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Brilliant delivery and pointed mockery of tv commercials.
  4. Ha Ha. You have a ticket but you don't know what day it will be accepted. Ha Ha.
  5. A side issue: The Birds is a really great film... until you become an adult. Discuss. Not even. When I was a kid I read the Du Marier short story first and when I saw the movie I was disappointed by what was basically a slasher film version of a more subtle thriller of a story. Also, I think Hitch was shtupping Tippi Hendren or really wanted to.
  6. The Pirates need to be re-acquired by a crooner in order to return to greatness. Who are possible candidates - Tony Bennet? Andrea Bocelli? Andy Williams? Neil Sedaka? Neil Diamond? Justin Bieber? Just a little too late for Eddie Fisher. Perhaps David Bowie could pick up the mantle for his old singing buddy?
  7. David Wells only pitched for the Yankees for four seasons of his career? It sure felt that his Yuckiness lasted a lot longer than that.
  8. I was hiding under your porch because I love you.
  9. Crosby probably lit up a victory joint in celebration.
  10. A CPF member - who shall remain nameless - may or may not go to Citi Field and run naked across the field. You'll have to tune in to see if that happens.
  11. Read this in Twitter. Jose Reyes extended his road hitting streak to 23 games last night, the longest in franchise history. Too bad he sucks and everyone wants to trade him.
  12. Can Torre win without a roster of juiced-up robo-players?
  13. Going back to the article. I know that ash is the typical wood for baseball bats. Players quoted in the article blame maple wood for the fracturing. Is there a lot of variety in wood used in bats or is it just these two?
  14. Sounds like grounds for opening a criminal case against Roger Clemens. BTW, call me a Luis Castillo, but reading about punctured lungs gives me the heebie-jeebies.
  15. I guess I only win against the Pirates too.
  16. If you're feeling really twisted, you could make a Seaver 41 jersey.
  17. Time to play spoiler. Probables: Hanson, Tommy (9-11, 3.54) versus Niese, Jon (9-8, 3.85)
  18. For the sweep. It's a good thing that my hotel has wifi so I can keep these IGT's up right through my vacation, if necessary. And it will be necessary because the Mets are winning all the rest of their games.
  19. Reyes-SS Pagan-RF Beltran-CF Wright-3B Davis-1B Evans-LF Blanco-C Tejada-2B Mejia-RHP
  20. Keeping the streak alive. Maholm, Paul(7-14, 5.37) v. Mejia, Jenrry (0-4, 4.91)
  21. Reyes-SS Pagan-RF Beltran-CF Wright-3B Davis-1B Evans-LF Blanco-C Tejada-2B Dickey-RHP
  22. bmfc1 wrote: The Mets last played at Detroit in 2007. That series included the Tigers winning the rubber game, 15-7, after pounding Tom Glavine for nine runs in 4 1/3 innings. Ah yes, that's the game where Glavine used the post-game interview to criticize the younger players for being to lackadaisical and my hatred for Glavine was officially sealed.
  23. 18 consecutive wins to go.
