    I've lived in Boston 21 years and this is the first time I've ever seen Tom Brady called "Tom Terrific."

    For some reason I remembered today that in the late 80s the song "Every Street's a Boulevard in Old New York" was played before Mets games at Shea. I've listened to several different versions of the song now and none of them sound like the one I remember. Does anyone remember who sang the version played at Shea?

    Agree with the views of the skyline. I got some great pictures up there. They do still have the policy of not allowing people with upper level tickets into the field level area, but at the game I went to with my family last year there was no one enforcing it. We wandered around the field level before the game and my wife & son returned during the ninth inning. Maybe they're stricter when the attendance is better because this game had a very poor turnout.

    I've been there a couple of times. It's nice on the lower level, I sat in the bleachers the first time, but the upper levels are pretty miserable. There's not much to do in the surrounding area as the ballpark is surrounded by a parking lot and a massive freeway.

    I just learned that our friends at the Internet Archive have a collection of https://archive.org/details/vintagebaseballradio/complete game recordings of baseball radio broadcasts dating 1934 to 1973. There are a boatload of early Mets games in there if you have a hankering to hear Lindsey Nelson, Bob Murphy, and Ralph Kiner again.
