    I'm opening up this thread for discussion of our annual get together at a Mets game. Here we'll gauge interest, make plans, and discuss particulars. In the Banner Day thread, Rockin' Doc proposed attending the doubleheader against the Marlins on Saturday, July 8th starting at 1:20 PM. I second this proposal. Any one who wishes to add to this idea or offer alternates, here's the place to do it.

    ]*Universities, I suspect. are at a disadvantage here, because the family of a rich alumn from 1957 who donates a new building gets his name on it, the famiy of a rich alumn who donates money to renovate a building already named for a rich alumn of 1906 doesn't, and those folks are perhaps less inclined to donate without a building/monument to Papa. Just a specualtive footnote there. Nice speculation, but university buildings in my experience are renamed all the time when someone forks over a load of dough. Or they get the awkward combined name such as W&M's Cary Field at Zable Stadium. And my own recently renovated library is now (Original Name) Library in the (Name of rich benefactor's father) Center.
