  1. And how are they faithful to Shea if they're seeing other ballparks?
  2. That would be a performance-debilitating drug. Batters would charge the mound to hump the pitcher's leg.
  3. Scarlett, you may also do that yourself by right-clicking on the link and selecting "Open Link in New Window."
  4. Castro 1.5 Delgado 2 Julio 1 Martinez 3 Nady 2 Wright 0.5
  5. Mets back into a tie for best record in MLB with last year's pennant winners. Yes, it's only April...
  6. Hernandez plays the "get a sense of humor" defense on his "women should be in the kitchen" comment.
  7. Sweet homerun by Piazza ... I mean boooo ... okay I really liked it but it better not help put the Padres ahead
  8. ScarletKnight41 wrote: Bunting CAN be for winners! Bunting for hits is fine, I think it's overreliance on sacrifice bunts that folks object too.
  9. Website authors are getting really pissy about people hotlinking images.
  10. Back to Back kabooms. Me likey.
  11. There are several military bases in the San Diego area and each season the Padres have a millitary tribute night, hence the camo uniforms. Nice sentiment even if the uniforms look odd. Nice homer by Nady.
  12. TransMonk wrote: Gawd those SD camo unis are ugly. I'm surprised no team has adopted that look as their regular uni. I kind of like the olive green hat though.
  13. The ad behind home plate is disturbing. I think it's for Jack in the Box. Looks like a character from my nightmares.
  14. I like my sluggers literate.
  15. Woo-hoo! I love tuning in just as Delgado crushes a homer to center.
  16. Best homegrown Met hitter of his era (with Straw and Wright one of the three best homegrown Met hitters of my lifetime). The real heart of the successfull late 90's early '00's teams IMHO. Willingly moved to 2nd to accomodate Ventura, willingly moved back to 3d to accomodate Alomar. Excelled at both positions and hit better than those putzes to boot. 6 hits against Houston (Seventeen becomes Thirteen) Grand slam in 1999 NLDS. One of my favorite Mets of all-time.
  17. 10 max, 0.1 min. No more than 6 for one player. Them's the official rules. I have my own personal rules too.
  18. Jay Horowitz has been with the Mets for ages, but I think he'd have a great future as a White House Press Secretary.
  19. Ding ding ding! The peeeeeeeeee ceeeeeeeeeeeeee card has been played.
  20. I don't think its a high horse to follow the golden rule - treat others how you want to be treated. I can imagine that someone behaving in a way that is stereotypical or shows an ignorance of my own culture (whether that be Irish heritage, American, New Englander, Mets fan, etc.) would not be pleasing to me, therefore seeing people behave in a way that is stereotypical of Mexicans and ignorant of Martinez's Dominican heritage is also not pleasing to me.
  21. I think we are all capable of empathy and by analogy understand why this could be offensive. Ignorance and stupidity is not just offensive Dominicans but to all of humanity.
  22. Rockin' Doc wrote: I think it's safe to say that Willets will never be president of Glavine's fan club. Maybe, but folks giving 6 points to the LOSING pitcher really cheapens awarding 6 points. I'll save that for a complete game shutout or a batter who hits 4 for 4 with 6 RBI's in a game (for example).
  23. The Schaefer Police:
  24. You're too legit to quit.
  25. Chavez 1 Delgado 3 Franco 2 Matsui 1 Nady 0.5 Reyes 1 Sanchez 0.5 Traschel 0.5 Wright 0.5
