  1. I'm just disappointed that these things are closing before I get a chance to vote. My own magic spreadsheet is at home and I've been going to bed early this week so I would probably have time to tally on the weekend. I just winged one from memory though so you can get a good quorum of voters.
  2. Delgado 1.5 Gomez 2 Maine 2.5 Heilman 1.5 Schoeneweis .50 Smith 1.5
  3. Oh, I thought today was Thursday. Shit.

I will probably have some access to the Internet, and may vote in some of the Schaefer threads, but I won't have my magic spreadsheet with me, so there won't be any tallying until after I get back on June 24. Wednesday's game will be tallied on Friday, and then the games will pile up for about a week or so. We do apologize for any inconvenience. Wait, I just went to vote on this one and it's already closed. Maybe you can let us know what time you're closing things too.
  5. Really the whole team has to step up.

  7. Since Clippard clipped the Mets: Mets 8-14 Yankees 15-8 That game was big momentum shift for both teams.
  8. Opponents are also scoring an average of 5.41 runs per game in that same stretch.
  9. Just as a favor for your friendly neighborhood archivist, if you start an "in-game thread" or a "know thy enemy", please try to put at least IGT or KTE in the title. Most people already do this, and it's not really a big deal, and I'm not laying down the law with an edict, nor am I attempting to stifle your as ever brilliant creativity. It's just easier to archived those threads if I can latch on to some initials. Thanks.

  11. Maybe, maybe not. It's taking a risk on building a contending team for several seasons with possible loss of contention this season (which may happen regardless).
  12. I think we're past panic time and into rebuilding time. Seriously. Even if this team manages to go .500 or thereabouts and squeak in as a wild card I'd rather that Omar do something to build this team up as a consistent contender rather than the lighting in the bottle squad held together by duct tape we have now. I'd start by weeding out the older guys (Glavine, Hernandez, Easley, Franco, Valentin, Sele, LoDuca, Green and yes, maybe even Delgado). Maybe some of them can bring us prospects from AL contenders at the trade deadline. In their place bring up some of current top performers from AAA & AA and let them play out the season. They can't do any worse than the team is now.
  13. Nice simulpost Edgy.
  14. I just Googled Ed Glynn for no good reason.
  15. I believe Dickshot is alluding to Swank's role in Boys Don't Cry.

  17. Mystery still unsolved since 2000: Who let the dogs out?
  18. Easley 2 Franco 1.5 Gomez 2 Reyes 1.5 Wright 3
  19. True as that may be, a starting pitcher is not going to be in enough games to win a Player of the Year since PotG totals are measured on a game by game basis.

  21. Yancy Street Gang wrote: Their failing to participate in that first big season of free agency (after the 1976 season) should have been a clue. I actually entertained thoughts of Reggie Jackson coming to the Mets. Heh, it was the second time they missed out on him.
  22. I like Ollie. I don't know if he gives the Mets the best chance to win, but I just like him.
  23. I was 3 and totally clueless. Now I'm 33 and not much has changed. Honestly, when I first heard of Tom Seaver he was a Red and I was given an indication that a long time ago he played for the Mets. Obviously in retrospect his Mets years were much more recent than my childhood mind imagined.
  24. Good gravy! Is there no end to the constant Yankee discussion on this Mets forum?
