  1. Fuckin' Larry!
  2. Does not make up for the GiDPs, Alou, not at all.
  3. Nymr83 wrote: its not too late... On a night where Newhan triples, anything is possible.
  4. Milledge is the shit!
  5. Willie should institute a rule. Every time a batter grounds into a double play with 2 or more runners on base, he loses a testicle.
  6. METS!!! (maybe that will reverse the KC hex).
  7. seawolf17 wrote: Hey, the library bought it, right? Still counts as a sale. I love you man!
  8. I hat baseball.
  9. The Mets are gonna kick ass tonight. Who's with me? LET'S
  10. I know them. They're a bunch of fucks.
  11. If it's any consolation G-Fafif, I got what you meant.
  12. Yancy Street Gang wrote: According to Frank Thomas in Kiss it Good-bye, his dealings with Branch Rickey were consistent with Ralph Kiner's. That's right. It was the double whammy of reading Thomas, then Kiner, that made me reevaluate what I thought I knew about Rickey.
  13. Just as long as the Mets don't get Stupid ****'s brother Doss. He sucks.
  14. Yancy Street Gang wrote: After the way this season started, how badly would it suck if the Yankees were playing in October and the Mets weren't? Well, that's what I predicted isn't it? These days I'm much more positive about the Mets.
  15. Should have "Bourne to be wild" as an option (if you're going for bad puns).
  16. G-Fafif wrote: 5) What a fucking idiot. He's actually made me rush to the defense of Tom Glavine. Greg wins this thread!
  17. Centerfield wrote: his brilliant statement that being aggressive on the basepaths is always beneficial as long as you don't run into outs. That's how he earned the title Master of the Obvious from me.
  18. Now people may pay more attention to the cool stats I posted in honor of Glavine's 300th win (which sadly I missed seeing).
  19. Looks like a good book. I had always thought of Rickey highly because he was an innovator and help usher in integration. Then I read Ralph Kiner's book and learned that Ralph has an extremely low opinion of Rickey. Now my opinion of Rickey is more nuanced. What are your thoughts on Rickey from a player's perspective like Kiner?
  20. Anyone want to split the Wally Matthews section into a different thread?
  21. ="Frayed Knot"]="Edgy DC"]How sadly soviet. I was thinking the same thing. In the old days if the General Seretary was described as having the sniffles it was probably the flu, a chest cold was probably pnuemonia, and if they admitted he actually had pnuemonia it probably meant he had already been dead for at least a week. Reminds me of this guy who has been rumored to be working for the Yankees since 2003.
  22. Guillermo is my name in Spanish too.
  23. Hee. That subject line is a catchphrase of mine I picked up from my wife. She learned it from a documentary about WWI where a Scottish veteran was describing life in the trenches. You really have to roll the r's for best effect.
  24. I tuned in for the last out of a win. Nice. All the joy, none of the agita.
