  1. okay, Butto puts an end to the threat. Mets down 1-0 going to the home half of the 6th. Time for Houser to turn back to a pumpkin.
  2. Holmes coming out after a laborious, but successful, 5 & 2/3 innings. Holmes seemd to get squeezed by the home plate ump on that last walk. Butto coming in with bases loaded.
  3. Mets hitters making Adrian Houser look like a Cy Young Candidate.
  4. Sac fly. Not great, but I'll take it. Mets up 4-1 going to the bottom of the 7th.
  5. The Mets load the bases on 3 straight singles to open the top of the 7th. The Red Sox have us right where they want us. Time for someone to step up and go against type and drive in a run.
  6. If he was taking a weight loss medicine, it didn't work.
  7. The Mets have gone from almost unbeatable to almost unwatchable in a little over a week.
  8. Well, they do have the GIDP down as a unit. I wish they would get the line drive in the gap down instead.
  9. Instead the Red Sox hit a pair of solo HRs to take a 2-0 lead.
  10. This would be a great time for Alonso to bust one.
  11. The Mets 0-RISP woes continue. Well, McNeil and Baty both hit hard shots at least.
  12. I saw that Cohen debunked the whole not flying with the team. It's the lack of hustle that bothers me. A problem that is far too common in today's game.
  13. Alvarado claims it was due to a weight loss medicine he was taking during the offseason.
  14. Buehler upset because he felt Lindor did not try to get out of the way of the breaking ball that hit him on the foot. Batters often make minimal to no attempt to evade pitches (particularly breaking ball, with all the body armor they wear. Then he totally loses his cool and gets himself ejected when the ump called a borderline (at the knees) pitch call on Lindor's successful steal of second. Mets need to take advantage of this opportunity.
  15. Wow, I didn't think Nimmo could throw like that. I was pretty much conceding the run with Nimmo making the catch.
  16. Danny Young has reportedly opted to have season ending surgery.
  17. The Mets lose both games of the doubleheader. The Mets stranded too many base runners. They hit into some bad luck in the second game, but the biggest factor is the starting pitching was unable to continue it's stellar work. In game one, Tidwell was not ready for his ML debut and got smacked around by the Cardinals. In the second game, Megill just didn't have it today. The Mets hit Cardinals starter Palante very hard, but his defense bailed him out to keep it from being even worse. Then MrGreevey came in to toss 5.2 innings of stellar relief in his season debut for the Cardinals. Not a good day for the Mets. They need to regroup and get back to their winning ways in Arizona.
  18. Sound went out on my MLB feed in the 7th inning. It is weird, watching with no sound. Like inverse radio.
  19. Nimmo smokes a hard line drive to the gap. Unfortunately, it hung up just long enough the RF to run it down and end the inning. The Mets hit some rockets that inning, but too many of them ended up in the gloves of Cardinal outfielders.
  20. Damn, Victor Scott II made a great leaping catch to rob Soto of a 3 run HR to center. Men on second & third with one out for Pete.
  21. Megill is struggling. Escapes the bottom of the 3rd with the score now tied at 4.
  22. The Mets score 4 in the top of the 3rd to take the lead 4-2. Megill is currently in the process of giving up the lead.
  23. Cleon Jones, going with the obvious.
  24. Pete scorched that ball. Line shot home run off the facing of the second deck.
