Nice to get the reversal on the steal. unfortunately, the Mets can't get anyone else out. Single, 2 run HR and now a double. The Royals have 4 consecutive hit in this inning. The Mets have 2 hits for the game.
Nimmo's gamble on that ball costs a run as Perez lumbers home from 1st base to tie the game. Field that ball on the hop and it's a single with Perez likely on second (or at worst third).
Had he gone by Fury Tenace (rather than Gene) he certainly would have been far more memorable to HOF voters and fans alike. He had a fine career and has 6 World Series rings to show for it, but he needed more than a name change to get into Cooperstown.

The top two finalist at virtually every position featured a Dodger, so I was afraid that the large LA voting block might push Betts past the more deserving Lindor. Glad to see that Lindor win out. Well, deserved.
The starting pitching has been markedly worse with the loss of Senga and Megill out. Having to run Blackburn and Tidwell every few games is not going to get it done. The lack of innings from the starting pitchers has resulted in a greatly overworked bullpen, that is suddenly showing the effects of over use.
Giving up 6 runs on 5 hits (without a HR) means the Mets have contributed to their deficit with walks, passed balls, and questionable defensive decisions. The Mets have only had one legitimate scoring threat. They are making Baz look like Cy Young.
Not going well in the 2nd inning. TB small balling the Mets to death. Questionable defense walks and wild pitches are helping either. Quickly in 3 run hole.
I thought Muncy's ball was gone when he first hit it. Thankfully, it wasn't quite hit as well as it initially appeared. An insurance run (or a few) would be nice.
