    Another game, another starting pitcher that can't get through (or is allowed to) get through 6 innings. For the Mets, virtually every game is a bullpen game of sorts.

    Nimmo is completely lost at the plate in this series.

    I think Montas is at greater risk of losing his spot in the rotation upon Megill's return. I doubt Blackburn is much of a threat to take anyone's rotation spot. As bad as Montas has been, Blackburn has been even worse this season (looking at ERA & WHIP).

    Well, having a lead was nice while it lasted. Cleveland playing station to station, but they just keep getting hits.

    I remember when hard balls through the box were generally hits. Not in todays game with the off side infielder shifting so far toward the middle that instead it is often an out. In this case, an inning ending DP.

    Guardians defense being generous to load the bases for Lindor. Chance to break it open.

    Maybe, this could be a good night. Taylor gets a hit to drive in the run.

    Mets, or at least McNeil, playing small ball. Sac bunt moving Vientos to 3rd with one out. I would settle for a sac fly from Alvarez.

    The Mets fell to the Guardians in the 10th inning last night to drop the first game of the series with Cleveland. The Mets will turn to right hander Clay Holmes in hopes he can right the ship. The team desperately needs someone other than David Peterson to pitch 6 effective innings in a start. Time to step up and get the job done. Speaking of getting the job done, it would be great if the offense could break out and score some runs. A rare inning here and there just isn't what is expected from this line up.     As the season moves into August, Jett is still putting up solid numbers in Binghamton. He is currently hitting .278 with a .388 OBA. OPS is a solid .870 with 10 home runs and he has 29 steals in 35 attempts. He has played shortstop the majority of time (55 games), with appearances in CF, second base, and DH. Pretty good for a 21 year old.

    Baty with a single to drive in McNeil. Half way makes up for the 2 runs his error cost in the top of the inning. Torrens to the plate.

    Damn, Mullins with a line shot bullet, but right at the RF.

    Smith throws letter high heat which is generally Pete's kryptonite. Proves to be so again with the bases juiced. McNeil with his second hard hit shot, but has nothing to show for them. On to the 10th inning for pseudo-baseball.

    Nimmo blown away for the 1st out. I guess I should just be glad he didn't ground into a double play. Lindor rips a double.

    I thought the Mets had the lead when Mullins hit that hard one hopper, but Rocchio made a great stop to prevent 2 runs. Cleveland bringing in their closer in the 8th.

    The two before Pete's home run should have been outs as well, but the Guardians were in a giving mood.
